MAINE CONSTRUCTION CAREER DAY
Juniors and seniors in our carpentry and electrical classes visited the annual Maine Construction Career Days held at Midcoast Excavation in West Bath on Thursday, October 5th. Students participated in hands-on demonstrations, operated equipment, experimented with VR equipment, and talked with business professionals in the field. Students walked away with armfuls of swag, snacks, and their very own hardhat and safety glasses. Some students even won tool sets worth hundreds of dollars. Thank you to all of the partners that made this day possible, the students had a great time!
CULINARY VISITS DOWN TO FRY & MAINE LOBSTER WEEK
CNA - Lesson about Skin
The CNA students learned about the integumentary system. The skin is the first line of defense against germs and infections, it protects the body against the external environment, and it regulates temperature. To make it more exciting, they made the layers of skin out of pudding, cool whip, and candy. Once their models were complete, they got to eat them.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE IS HARD AT WORK
CRIMINAL JUSTICE VISIT MAINE WARDEN SERVICE
Five of our criminal justice students had the opportunity to hear from Maine State Game Wardens in Sydney, Maine on October 4th. Students learned about what it takes to be a Maine Game Warden in Maine. There’s a lot of flexibility in the schedule, which means that they are looking for reliable, hard working, upstanding citizens that can motivate themselves to get up on even the coldest of Maine mornings to go and serve.
