ASE Leaderships' Message
We hope our students and families are settling into the 2021-2022 school year at Anderson-Shiro Elementary School! I am proud to serve as your ASE principal and I look forward to our continued partnership in providing our OWLS with the best elementary school experience. If your family is new to the Anderson-Shiro area, I extend a warm welcome from the OWL Family.
This school year, we will also be launching some PBIS strategies by teaching our students the expected behaviors across all school settings. We have kicked things off by reviewing, and teaching students the expectations as they S.O.A.R. in all school-wide settings, such as, restrooms, cafeteria, hallway, dismissal and arrival expectations.
This year we begin each day as a school family with Morning Assembly. Together we recite pledges, celebrate birthdays, acknowledge accomplishments and reinforce character traits and behavior expectations. It's been a wonderful way to start our day off POSITIVE and pledge to SOAR throughout our day.
Be sure to scroll through this newsletter and share it with other family members and friends of ASE. We are happy you are connected to our school and appreciate your support as we work to help all students succeed!
Smiles,
Mrs. Zielonka (Principal) and Mrs. Weintraub (Counselor)

One School, One Book
So fun this year our “one school, one book” this year is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and will begin September 20th. More information and the books will be going home as that date gets closer. Also, there will be 20 golden tickets hidden in random chapter books in the library. If the student can answer the question on the ticket, they will receive a free ice cream cup from the library.
A big thank you to our Anderson-Shiro Education Foundation for funding our “one school, one book” project this year
