It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the 2021-22 school year at Lubbock-Cooper Middle School. Whether you are a newcomer or a returning student of LCISD, we anxiously await your arrival to our campus. I am pleased to announce that the first day of school will be August 18. We have worked diligently to create our instructional team and have added exceptional teachers to fill the few vacancies. Our team is excited about working with both students and parents as we anticipate another EXEMPLARY year!

July 27 - July 29 "Jump Start Camp” (1:00-4:00 p.m.) at the LCMS Gym

We are so excited about “Jump Start Camp!” Campers will meet from 1:00.-4:00 p.m. on July 27-29 to learn about what it means to be a middle school Pirate. Students can count on fun learning and social activities chosen to teach young people about responsibility and benefits associated with being part of a winning team. There will be a $25 camp fee (includes t-shirt). Please make checks payable to Lubbock-Cooper Middle School PTO. We encourage all to attend, as this is an opportunity to meet fellow classmates. If cost is an issue, please visit with me for scholarship opportunities.

Online registration is complete and our shirt order has been placed. I still have room for some more campers as I have ordered some extra shirts. Please contact the main office or stop by and register your 6th grade camper.

August 12 - Sixth Grade Orientation Day Camp (2:30-4:45 p.m.) at LCMS Cafeteria
The transition to sixth grade can be overwhelming, and to make sure students have a great start, we have planned a Sixth Grade Orientation Day Camp. Sixth grade students will get to know the campus, classes, and teachers, and meet new friends. When they come to Orientation Camp, they will learn how the Middle School operates and get information that will help them be successful. Students will need to bring something to write with. Parents will meet up with their students in the gym at 5:00 p.m. Parents can attend an informational meeting beginning at 5:15 p.m.

Annual online student verification is now open and available for parents to update their child’s information for the 2021-22 school year. Online verification MUST be complete in order for your child to receive a classroom assignment or class schedule.

Online Student Verification can be found by logging in to your Skyward Family Access account. (If you need assistance logging in to Skyward Family Access, please click here for video instructions.)

Upon completion of each step, click on the box: "Complete Step # and move to Step #."

Please maximize your screen to ensure you are able to see all important information. Set zoom to 100 percent. Most required fields are marked with an asterisk. Please be careful of spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and date signature.

Text that appears in blue is a link to another site. Please click on these sites to get more information or to complete additional tasks. Once you complete the task and close the window, you will be returned to online verification.

Online verification is not COMPLETE until you click "Submit 2021 - 2022 Online Student Verification" on the last step of the process. Once the form is submitted, you will receive an email confirmation.

Student Verification must be submitted for each student in your family. Once you have successfully submitted one Online Verification, please return to the "Online Student Verification" tab to begin verification for any other students in your family.

What: Computer Lab Open for Online Verification

When: 7/29/2021, 5:30-7:00 p.m.

Office Staff will be available to help parents complete online verification. If you are having trouble or do not have access to a computer with Internet service, stop by!

*** Our campus will be open the week of July 26 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday if you are needing assistance. ***

All seventh grade students must be up-to-date on seventh grade required vaccines (tDap & MCV) before they will receive their schedule. If you have any questions, please contact Kristy Rose, Director of Health Services, at 806-863-7100 ext. 1231.

If you are applying for OCPE, please read through the important guidelines here then scroll to the bottom of this page to access the Off-Campus Physical Education (OCPE) application form.

Parents must complete the online student form which will be sent to the District OCPE Coordinator. The District OCPE Coordinator will work with the approved facility for necessary documentation, then submit the application for approval to LCISD Director of Administrative & Community Services Edna Parr.

When the application is approved, the parent and counselor will be notified via email. All applications must be completed online. No paper copies will be accepted. The application deadline is two weeks before the first day of instruction for the 2021-22 school year. Deadlines will be strictly enforced.

July 27 Eighth Grade Schedule Pick-up/Open Tours 2:00-6:00 p.m.

Students will be able to pick up their schedules on July 27. Please enter through the west entrance of the building (Gym Entrance). All schedules have been processed according to students’ requests and class availability. If you require a schedule change for academic reasons, please email Mrs. Cooper (mmcooper@lcisd.net) requesting a link to fill out an online schedule change request form.

*Online Student Verification must be complete in order for your child to receive his/her schedule. All lunch fines must be paid in full from previous school year. Seventh graders must be current on their shots before they can get a schedule.

All lunch/library/iPad/iPad accessory fines must be paid in full from the previous school year.

August 12 (5:15-6:30p.m.) Sixth Grade OPEN HOUSE

Meet the teachers and tour the building. There will be a general session at 5:15 p.m. in the gym; come and go between 5:30-6:30 p.m.

August 30 (5:00-6:30 p.m.) Seventh and Eighth Grade Open House

Meet the teachers and tour the building. There will not be a general session; come and go.

The PTO will meet several times throughout the fall and spring semester and is very happy to welcome new parents. We are looking for parents to help with the Middle School PTO. A signup sheet will be available during Open House if you are interested.

LCMS strives to keep families informed about events within the district and school. We will provide you with important information about our campus through SchoolMessenger and Smore (online newsletters). Classroom web pages and grades will be available and updated weekly. You can access information online at www.lcisd.net.
