Hendricks Families,
What a great week at Hendricks! It was so nice to see everyone back in the building after the break! We also welcomed some new Hurricanes!
Students and staff are hard at work preparing for all the second semester has to offer. Second and third graders are preparing for upcoming IREAD! We are excited to add music back into our specials rotation. Mrs. Titus has done a great job settling into her new role as our music teacher! We also want to welcome Miss Johnson to our second grade team! Miss Johnson has done a great job of getting to know the students and establishing routines and procedures!
The boys basketball season is underway! The boys will practice on January 16 and 18 from 3:00-4:00. Please make sure your athlete has tennis shoes, shorts and a t-shirt for practice! Pick up will be at Door A2.
Please join us for our next PTO Meeting! We will be meeting in the library at 5:30 on Tuesday, January 16th!
Important Message from Mrs. Sullivan: I am now taking referrals for students for small groups, please complete the included form to refer your student(s). Thanks!

About this Event:
Difficult conversations are ones that no one wants to have. Often people avoid or put off these conversations to a point that emotions are heightened and we have stories in our minds about the other person. These conversations do not have to be this way! If we reframe the way we think about the conversation, the person, and the difficulty at hand, we can create a successful outcome.
In this training, the learner:
· Will understand what makes a conversation difficult.
· Will understand co-regulating during the conversation.
· Will learn to prepare for, start, and be in a difficult conversation.
Speaker:
Lindsay Kusy, LMHC, CCTP-11, CCFP, CAGCS

Transportation
Dismissal Change Effective 10-16-2023
In an effort to eliminate the wait time after school Hendricks will be reorganizing dismissal at the end of each day. Students going to the Boys/Girls Club after school, will be dismissed to buses at 2:18. They will be transported to the Club and the buses will return to HES. Once all of the buses arrive back at HES, the remaining students will load to go home. This will delay dismissal 5-10 minutes each day. This process will begin on Monday, October 16, 2023. Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions! Thanks for understanding!
Please be sure to check Infofinder at http://www.infofinderi.com/ifi/?cid=SCS5QTZ7SAUC for your bus number and bus stop information.
We are asking that any requests for a transportation change be submitted to the office no later than 1:30 pm daily. A reminder that requests must be consistent throughout the week, meaning that the pick up and/or drop off address remains the same all week.
