A Note from Mrs. Taylor

Congrats to BOTH winterguards for ending an AWESOME season on such a high note!!!

Both Groups medaled at championships in the highest classification they ever have in the history of the school! Congratulations on such an amazing season!

Concert bands will be finishing up their Concert and Sight- Reading seasons in the next two weeks, let's finish strong with amazing performances!

LETTER JACKETS; FORMS DUE Wednesday!!!

ATTENTION CURRENT JUNIORS

If you have been in marching band for the past 3 years, you can fill out the Senior Form to get fitted for your letter jacket. Any underclassmen that have enough point to qualify will also need to fill out the form at this time in order to be submitted for this fitting.

Make sure that you turn in your forms by Wednesday, April 12, 2023 for either qualification, this will be the last fitting for this year.

Your information will be coming from Lauren Ellis regarding the fitting. Make sure that you DO NOT miss your fitting time; THIS IS OUR LAST OPPORTUNITY to fit for the year. Once you get this information from Ms. Ellis, questions regarding jackets need to go directly to the company.

Sectionals/ UIL

Wind Ensemble will have our final after school rehearsal Tuesday from 3-5 PM.

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday this week are UIL performances.

BAND FEES ALL DUE AT THIS TIME; URGENT: ACTION REQUIRED

ANY OUTSTANDING FEES should be taken care of by now, if they are not, please take care of that then send an e-mail to Mrs. Taylor to get your student removed from the LOP.

At this time, all fees should be made through CHARMS & SKYWARD. If you paid SKYWARD fees in CHARMS at the beginning of the year, you should see where that was transferred and your SKYWARD account should not show an outstanding balance. IF you see an outstanding SKYWARD fee that you paid through CHARMS, please let me know so I can follow up and ensure that your student is not on the LOP by mistake.

If you have an outstanding balance that does not NET to ZERO, students will be ADDED TO LOP and unable to attend the Assembly this coming Friday. Please take a minute to double check that your CHARMS balance is Paid in Full and that any SKYWARD fees are also paid, UNLESS the CHARMS credit nets that to zero as mentioned above.

Eligibility (some new)

CONCERT AND SIGHT-READING IS NOT AFFECTED BY ELIGIBILITY!!! This is an evaluation/ assessment, therefore ALL students are eligible to participate regardless of grades.

Current Eligibility is still based on CYCLE 2 with a potential regain from Progress Reports 3 and 32. As a reminder progress report grades can only allow you to regain eligibility, they do not cause you to lose eligibility. At this time, students should focus to make sure that their upcoming Cycle 3 grades are taken care of to maintain eligibility for the remainder of the year.

There was an adjustment to The Progress Report 32 date due to the bad weather dates, but this didn't affect the majority of students, only those still trying to regain.

BELOW IS REPEATED INFORMATION

All other grading periods, the 9 week grade is the only one that can cause a student to lose eligibility. Their 3 week grade and 6 week grades can allow them regain IF they are passing ALL classes (not just the one they may have failed that caused the loss of eligibility). Just like the verification to lose, this grade check is a week prior to them actually regaining eligibility.

3 PM- 7 PM. Leadership Training (required for all those auditioning for LEADERSHIP)

BAND APP Pointers *(repeat some new)

MAKE sure you are in the correct Band APP based on your Spring Audition Placement
If your schedule is messed up, you may be in more than one concert band app
Please make sure notification are ON in the FULL Band Group
Students and parents, please do not post in this group unless absolutely necessary or cleared by a director.
We need this group to get necessary information to the entire group.
