Greetings Families,

Thank you for all your support with our CLYNK Challenge. Congratulations to the following classes that earn a picnic pizza party with me!

Top three First Grade classes:

First place: Palladino with 47 bags

Second place: Bailey with 40 bags

Third place: Jolly with 39 bags.

Top three Second Grade classes:

First: Landry and Ginn with 33

Third: Harriman with 25

Our ABC Challenge started Tuesday. Please be advised an update was made for P-Pajama Day.

I know with spring here and summer on the horizon, our schedules get busy and we start to have more active nights and weekends. Please take note of our special events (district form provided below) and add them to your calendar.

Teachers and Staff enjoyed lunches, gifts, and flowers throughout the week for all their hard work and dedication!

This month our Staff Highlight is Second Grade Teacher Mr. Molleur. Mr. Molleur started working at BPS over 15 years ago. He spent his first years as a Title I reading interventionist before he transitioned into the classroom as a full-time teacher. Mr. Molleur is one of the first teachers to volunteer to pilot a program, be part of a team, or offer mentorship and support to another colleague. Mr. Molleur plays a big role in our Student Assistant Team, has coached Cross Country since the program began, and is an active member of the Teacher’s Union. Mr. Molleur is calm, kind, helpful, full of knowledge, and absolutely loves each of his students for exactly who they are. We are so grateful to have Mr. Molleur on our BPS team.

What is a Someday? A Someday is when a student or staff member is asked to select something they would like to see happen at school before the end of the year. Students and staff choose something fun and meaningful to them and our BPS team works together to give them this special moment before the end of the school year.

If you have a child turning the age of four (4) for Pre-K or five (5) for Kindergarten before October 15, 2022, please pre-register them as soon as possible via this link [Biddeford, Dayton] A projection of our enrollment for next year will allow us to plan more effectively and be better prepared for your children when they come to school in September. Tours will be made available in the coming months and additional paperwork may be required. Please note returning student registration will be open in early August.

Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has provided the school department with a limited supply of at-home COVID-19 test kits. Test kits will be available to families upon request while supplies last. If you are interested in receiving a kit, please contact your school nurse.
