Congratulations to Jack Regan on receiving the 2021 OGEA Eagle Scholarship!
The Oak Grove Education Association is proud to present the sixth annual Eagle Scholarship given to an Oak Grove alum who has demonstrated excellence in academics, character, extracurricular activities, and service. The OGEA represents the certified staff at Oak Grove School. Our educators are committed to the success of all current and former students.
The 2021 recipient of Oak Grove’s Eagle Scholarship has shown the impact that Oak Grove had on his high school career. In his words, Oak Grove taught him to "support and help others to the absolute extent of my abilities no matter what." Jack Regan has committed his high school career to that mantra- helping others. Jack has found ways to help others by co-founding the Fighting for Change NonProfit aimed to raise awareness for human rights initiatives, being a LHS Green Dot leader, participating in Best Buddies and so much more. Jack excelled in LHS athletics where he played water polo all four years. He also explored his passions through LHS activities serving as the three year president of Scone Thugs and two year Student Council Board member. Jack is committed to his academic success at Libertyville High School and hopes to find ways to use technology to solve problems and improve the lives of others in the future. Jack embodies what it means to be an Oak Grove Eagle and Libertyville Wildcat. The OGEA is proud of his commitment to both his school and community and cannot wait to see what the future holds.
Congratulations to Jack Regan and good luck next year at USC!
The OGEA would like to thank Dr. Meltzer for creating such a wonderful video presentation. It is honestly incredible so be sure to give it a view!

Curriculum Corner
Hello Oak Grove Community,
We have made it to the last Monday of the school year and many of us are looking forward to the relaxing days of summer while others are still pondering what their summer will look like. Here are 3 ways to help make your summer more productive and engaging for your young learners:
Make a plan: If you make a list of activities or events or trips you plan to take, make sure to write them down and follow through. Don’t forget to include rest time in between activities or locations; you’ll need a vacation from your vacation every once in a while.
Start the day early: Try and keep your regular schedule. This will allow you to maximize your days of fun and prevent the need to retrain your body at the end of the summer when school is back in session bright and early.
Keep learning: Just because the kids are not with their teachers all day doesn’t mean the learning should stop. Pick a time of day to read a book, practice some math, investigate a historical event or conduct an experiment. Keeping their minds engaged during the day will help them sleep better at night.
