Mrs. Tenney loves being a teacher to our youngest learners. Her creativity and love for play based learning is amazing.
Mrs. Tenney will now compete for Upshur County Teacher of the Year.

Everyone loves Mrs. Grose and her smiling face! She makes every student feel special and is always willing to do "whatever it takes" to help our students be successful.
Mrs. Grose will now complete for title of Upshur County Service Person of the Year!

PK Field Trip to Upshur County Public Library Permission Link
Our PK students will be visiting the Upshur County Public Library on Tuesday, March 1 to celebrate Dr. Seuss Day.
We will leave HES at 8:30 a.m. and return by 11:00 a.m.
Unfortunately, we won't be able to accommodate parents on this field trip.
100th Day of School Celebrated
Throughout the day, classrooms celebrated 100 days. Kindergarten had a math lesson on making 100 in groups of 10s. 3rd grade tried out various 100 activities - doing 100 jumping jacks, standing on 1 leg for 100 seconds, etc.
We are excited to see what the last 80 days of school will bring!
Dentist Visit to Hodgesville Elementary
Smiles Mobile Dentist will be visiting HES on March 4, 2022.

Huskytastic Summer Learning...........Continued
We are in the planning stages for our 2nd year of Huskytastic Summer Learning.
The dates for this summer are June 6 - 24 from 8:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. each day. Buses will transport students.
Due to the WV Holiday, there will be no school on June 20.
We will continue with learning with an emphasis on hands -on activities while mastering grade level standards.
Each Friday will be a field trip day and families will need to provide transportation home on that day.
Our 5th graders need to sign up here, but will be attending BUMS for their summer learning.
Please complete this form if you are interested in your child participating.
More information will be forthcoming as plans are made.

Our Core Beliefs / Mission
We at HES are dedicated to providing all students with knowledge and skills to become college and career ready in an environment emphasizing the PAX Good Behavior Game, which includes peace, productivity, health and happiness with the core belief “I better my world, and I better myself.”
It is our desire to:

Our Goal:
Hodgesville Elementary School will have an increase of at least 1.0 GE growth for 40% of our students as based on beginning of the year to end of the year data for 2021 – 2022 end of year assessments for Math and English Language Arts.
