Dear AESD Families,


The following update is provided to keep you informed regarding the Anaheim Elementary School District:

COVID-19 Updates

Please be aware that the CA Department of Public Health (CDPH) has updated their guidelines for K-12 schools:


  • Students with COVID symptoms are encouraged to test. However, they may return to school if their symptoms are mild and improving and they have been fever-free for 24 hours. They do not need to provide a negative test or doctor’s note to return to school. AESD has incorporated this new guidance in the AESD Illness guidelines.


  • Students who test positive must still notify their school for next steps.

  • CDPH no longer recommends routine notifications to families of school-based exposures. Therefore, schools will discontinue sending home the school exposure notification letters to families when there is a positive case on campus.

Spring Expanded Learning Opportunities Camp - Registration Open

In collaboration with the YMCA Anaheim Achieves Program, Anaheim Elementary will be providing ELO-P Spring Camp for all TK-6 grade students. The camp will take place April 10 - 14, 2023. The camp will be a nine-hour day from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at all 23 in-person school sites. Anaheim Elementary Online Academy students are eligible to attend at their home site. Expanded Learning Opportunities: Math Olympics in Anaheim Succeeds!

Anaheim Succeeds! recently completed the first Math Tournament after school. For the past five weeks, AESD teachers at each school site have been exploring math concepts through engaging math games to develop mental math development. Currently, there are over 70 AESD classroom teachers and 1,000 students participating in Math Olympics. Winning groups were awarded with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies and all students received a participation Anaheim Succeeds! medals for their commitment to math after school.


If you would like your child to join in Math Olympics, you may still enroll them in our upcoming Math Olympics sessions taking place from March 20, 2023, through April 28, 2023, and May 8, 2023, through June 7, 2023. Reach out to your school’s ELO-P leadership assistant for more information.
