Hyatt's Updates for March
Office Greetings
Dear Hyatt Elementary Families,
March is a great time of year as there is something for everyone occurring. We can anticipate winter coming to an end and a rejuvenating spring just around the corner. There are seasonal tournaments, spring sports, hiding gold from leprechauns, and yes, March is also Reading Month! Why wouldn't you feel excited? As with last month's updates, we are also continuing our focus maintaining a healthy mind and body to support our learning. This month's Positivity Project will focus on the character traits of Love of Learning and Identifying and Appreciating the Good in Others.
As always, we hope you find the information and updates below helpful. Please feel free to contact us or your child's teacher with any questions.
Ready for some sunshine,

GISD Reading Tips
Visit the library and check out books. Visits to a library expand your child’s world, opportunities, and interests for reading and models good habits and practices.
Talk with your children while on walks, in the grocery store, in restaurants, and wherever you go. Conversations build vocabulary, prior knowledge, and connections in the brain. Don’t let technology rob you of time talking with your children. If you allow children to watch TV, watch with them, ask questions, and engage them in talking about what they are watching.
Below are some additional online links to programs your children can access to support reading interests!

We also encourage movement, such as stretching, walking, running, and climbing during recess, PE, and certain classroom activities. Each of these are good for the body and mind as we learn more about ourselves and develop friendships along the way.
