Hello Everyone,

We have experienced a lot of student difficulties getting into Zoom when they forget to go to my.bethelsd.org to log in. Please make sure EVERY day you log in this way. You will then be able to get into classes easily. Additionally, Zoom links will begin to be placed on Canvas pages for students. Once they login through my.bethel.org, they will click on Canvas and access their link that way.

We are thrilled with the level of engagement so far. Our teachers are working hard to connect with each student. There will be times where teachers will invite your student for small group instruction during the Wednesday Independent Learning time. If they are not invited, they will be working independently on the assigned work from teachers.

We have attached our regular schedule below. Please make sure you are looking it over carefully. The RED portions are independent learning unless a teacher invites your child to a small group. The GREEN portions are live teaching, where ALL students need to get on Zoom to access class for the day.

Warriors, if you have not exchanged your iPad for a new one the time is now! Please email Mrs. Willenbring (cwillenbri@bethelsd.org) or call the library (253-800-5495) to make an appointment to swap out your iPad. • Ask your orchestra student if they need help tuning their instrument, or if their instrument needs finger tapes. Mrs. Droz is happy to help your child have a successful start to the year.

• You may drive up at SMS outside the commons/front office on Monday 9/14 or Wednesday 9/16 from 3-4 pm. If more than quick work is necessary, please drop off the instrument and Mrs. Droz will let you know when it is ready to pick up.

• Please be sure the instrument case is labeled with the student's first and last name.
  

• If you have pre-arranged with Mrs. Droz or Mr. Graciano to use a school-owned instrument this year, you may also pick it up during these times.

Warriors, please check your library account. Go to library.bethelsd.org, choose Spanaway Middle School, click LOGIN in the upper right corner, log in with your ID/lunch number and birthday then, click My Info. Have overdue library books? You can turn them into the school between 7 am -2 pm Monday - Friday. If you have a fine for the book, when we check in the book the fine will be removed from your account.

Want to check out a library book? Go to CATALOG, search for a book, click the title and then "hold it" on the right-hand side (instructions are below, too!). The library will then be notified you are requesting a book.

Books can be picked up outside the building under the red umbrella from 11 am - 1 pm Monday - Thursday. If transportation is an issue, let us know.

Beginning Monday, September 14th, our administrative team will hold Office Hours twice a week, Monday and Friday from 8:15 - 8:45 am. Please use one of the the links below to make an appointment, and a Zoom link will be sent to you. Questions? Please call our front office at 253-800-5400.

All visitors to Spanaway Middle School will be asked to complete a health screening prior to entering the building. There is a QR code on the front door with a brief survey to be completed by phone. We must also limit the number of guests in our office at all times, and all staff and visitors are required to wear masks. It is our intent to keep our entire Warrior community healthy and safe. We continue to ask that you call before you come to the campus, as many questions or needs can be resolved over the phone or online. We thank you all for your understanding and patience.

All BSD students now have an app on their iPads to get help for iPad and technology issues (see the image below). If the iPad is not working so that the app is not an option, you may use the link on the button below to complete the Help form.
