Semester 2 Schedule Change Information
Students may walk-in (no appointment needed) to see their counselor for semester 2 schedule changes. The only changes that will be considered are same period elective swaps, open periods that need to be filled, or adding a course to meet graduation requirements. For example, a student who is enrolled in Team Sports and Fitness would like to change into a different class because they already have their Fitness credit. They may come see their counselor to find out which other classes are open the same period and they may change into that class. Please see your counselor’s walk in times for semester 2 changes below…
Seniors - Dr. Knittel: Tuesday, December 13-1:30 pm-3:50 pm or Wednesday, December 14-1:30-3:30 pm. On December 15 from 1:30-3:30, students who need to retake the ACT WorkKeys (no more than 2 assessments) may schedule to retake 1 or 2 assessments. Only students who have previously tested will be allowed to take this assessment as there is not enough time for the full exam.
Juniors - Ms. Bucy: During Intervention-1:30-2:15 Tuesday 12/13, 2:30-3:30 Wednesday 12/14, & 1:30-3:30 Thursday 12/15.

2023 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. ~ PreK-12th Student Art & Writing Contest Deadline EXTENDED

What is DAAC?
Both state and federal accountability place great emphasis on including families within the accountability process. While state statute requires the formation of accountability committees, these committees can be activated to meet many of the ESSA expectations as well (e.g., stakeholder engagement in the planning and implementation process under school improvement). Regardless of the structure, parents are expected to engage in meaningful consultation in accountability and improvement planning. Furthermore, schools and districts are expected to report school data and document plans in a transparent manner. DAACs must consist of the following, at a minimum:
1) Three parents of students enrolled in the district
2) One teacher employed by the district
3) One school administrator employed by the district
4) One person involved in business in the community within district boundaries.
DAACs must select one of their parent representatives to serve as chair or co-chair. Local school boards will establish the length of the term for DAAC chair/co-chairs. To be consistent with SAC responsibilities, DAACs shall meet at least quarterly.
