March Updates
We celebrated our 100th day of school during the month of February and now have less than 100 days left before summer break! Personally, I will be happy to see the cold weather and snow leave us and happy to usher in Spring this month. I know the students will be happy, too, because they will get more opportunities to play outside during recess.
Sincerely,
Ms. Moore

Nurse's Notes
Spring is just around the corner! If you anticipate any special spring-time allergies I should be especially aware of, please call me. Also if your child will need any medication for allergies, asthma, bee stings, etc., please call so we can discuss it.
Please encourage hand washing (keeps allergens off the face) and drinking water. Spring is also a good time to remind your children about good hygiene, such as bathing, fresh clothing, keeping hands, feet and nails clean, brushing their teeth, etc. Spring and warm weather brings extra sweating and sometimes...”smells”. Lots of chapped lips!! Perhaps your child could have their own lip balm to keep in school for those times. Also, plain old petroleum jelly works great before bed and on their way out the door to school.
VERY IMPORTANT REMINDER:
Please keep your emergency contact information updated in the parent portal of Realtime (our computerized information system). This is how I find your child’s contacts when they are sick or injured. I have been finding that many times I do not have parents’ cell or work numbers.
Thank you. Have a safe and healthy March!
Mrs. Simpson
Vacations/Requesting Missed Schoolwork
“When vacations during the school year are planned by parents, a written notice is to be sent to the school at least one week in advance of the intended vacation. Students will obtain their assignments on the last day of attendance prior to the scheduled vacation. All assignments must be completed and submitted on the first day back in order to receive full credit.
If a request for assignments is not made in accordance with this procedure, then the following applies: “Pupils absent for any reason are expected to make up the work missed. Teachers will provide makeup assignments necessary. In general, pupils will be allowed one day to make up missed work for each one day of absence. Teachers shall make reasonable accommodations to extend time for pupils.”
