Inwell Named New Elementary Principal
We would like to introduce a familiar face as our next #PointerNation Elementary Principal. Mr. Tom Ingwell was approved by the School Board at Monday night's meeting. Mr. Ingwell has been employed with the District since January 2018 as an Elementary Physical Education Teacher and was previously a Pointer from 2012-14 as an Elementary Instructional Assistant.
Tom is a graduate of Darlington. He earned his Bachelor’s in Physical Education and a minor in Health Education and Adaptive Phy Ed from UW-Platteville in 2002. He also earned his Master’s from UW-Platteville in Cross Categorical (Special Education) in 2017, and plans to earn his Master’s in Public Administration as Principal/Director of Instruction from UW-River Falls in 2024.
His family includes wife, Amanda (MP Elementary Instructional Assistant), and children Brynn, Eliza, Ava, Tyler, and Myles.
“My educational philosophy includes using my strong energetic passion for children’s development and to make a significant difference in students' overall education. I am motivated to improve school culture and empower staff to continue to provide extraordinary instruction for our youngest learners. I’m approachable, honest, fair, and excited to provide inclusive learning environments. I will continue to do great things at Mineral Point using momentum and moving forward on the plans we have established and empowering our staff to continue to do great for our students and community.”

Livestock Quiz Bowl is a competition where questions are about beef, sheep, swine and meat goat topics. In the Skillathon contest, participants complete a 25-question written test, 4 individual skill-a-thon stations where contestants take part in livestock breed identification, feed identification, equipment identification and meat identification.
-- The state winning 4-H Skillathon team was from Grant County team and will represent Wisconsin at the National 4-H Skillathon Contest in Louisville, KY in November. Members included: Cameron Patterson, Luke Patterson, Libby Vogt, and Michael Edgington. Cameron Patterson was the top individual.
-- Second place in Senior Quiz Bowl at the state competition went to Grant County: Jessica Patterson, Cameron Patterson, Luke Patterson, Libby Vogt, Michael Edgington.
-- Second place in Junior Quiz Bowl at the state competition went to Iowa County. Members include: Caleb Formo, Riley Sennhenn, and Cole Schauff.
-- Second place in Junior Skillathon at state was Iowa County. Team members are Caleb Formo, Riley Sennhenn, Cole Schauff.
-- Grant County was second place in Mixed Quiz Bowl at the state competition. Members included: Iris Adams, Gwen Reidl, Aiden Patterson, and Leah Patterson. Aiden Patterson was the top individual.
-- Grant County was second place in Mixed Skillathon at the state competition. Team members were: Cameron Patterson, Luke Patterson, Libby Vogt, Michael Edgington.
