We are excited to honor our 2023 retirees at the May 18 School Board meeting. Thinking about retiring? You must notify HR of your plans to retire by Friday, May 5 to be included in the retiree recognition activities.
If you've already notified HR of your plans to retire, please be sure to complete the retiree survey (sent to you from Stephenie in HR), submit a photo to HR, and please take a moment to RSVP for the event on May 18. Thank you!
April is Volunteer Appreciation Month
If you see a volunteer in our schools this month, please take a moment to thank them for their time and commitment to our students!
April is Month of the Military Child
Thanks to all who participated in "Purple Up" Day on Friday! Some photo highlights were included in the We Are Bremerton community e-newsletter and posted on Facebook.

Bremerton School Board meeting - April 13

POLICY NEWS:
Revised Policy 6000, Program Planning, Budget Preparation, Adoption and Implementation, was adopted by the Board.

With the news that the West Hills Restorative Program will be disbanded at the end of the school year, the Board approved Resolution 2022/2023-12 to declare the West Hills STEM Academy Annex as surplus with an intent to lease the property.
The Board also approved two resolutions to recognize April as Volunteer Appreciation Month as well as the Month of the Military Child in the Bremerton School District.
The General Fund Balance Status Report was received along with several Written Reports: Enrollment, Staff Absence, and a mid-year CSIP Report for both secondary and elementary.
LONG-RANGE FACILITIES MASTER PLAN UPDATE

Please join us for the annual "be Bremerton: A Day of Service!"
be Bremerton: A Day of Service is a districtwide service event to show the Bremerton Community and the City of Bremerton our thanks for their tremendous support of the Bremerton School District and our students. BSD students, staff, families and volunteers will gather at Evergreen Rotary Park on Saturday May 13, and then break-up into teams to clean up downtown Bremerton before the annual Armed Forces Day parade and celebration!
A limited supply of FREE t-shirts will be available. If you have participated in the past and still have your t-shirt, wear it to be entered into a drawing for one of five gourmet caramel apples from Amy's Decadent Chocolates!
