THS Performing Arts Boosters
Social Distancing Edition 2020
Director's notes:
Wow. What an ending to a wild Semester. It would be okay with me NOT to have another one like it. First and foremost, Thank You to all the seniors who dealt with the loss of many senior expected tributes with quiet grace and understanding. You will always have my admiration and respect for the way you conducted yourselves. That being said, the Concert Choir was well on its way to being a superb group and Scoring Superior's at County and State Adjudications and competing and doing exceptionally well at the Martinsburg competition. The show choir, as well as JaCapella was more geared up to compete than I have seen them in many years as well. Kudos to all groups for an outstanding year.
We enter what will be known as the summer of "continuing uncertainty" (following the spring of "what on earth is happening") and so I have had to make some adjustments in our summer and fall schedules. Fun, since for all we know anything we plan can and probably will change. So Show Choir:
1. For the first time ever, all returning show choir members will not need to re-audition. If things are more 'normal' next year we will return to that practice.
2. We will have auditions for new members aka. students who wish to join in the madness. I will send information about all of this out in the next few days. I will also send out leadership information and materials.
3. With the lack of certainty as to when we can be in schools, how many at a time can be in schools and what sort of requirements will be in place; there will not be a Show Choir Camp in August. With a choreographer coming from Florida I decided it was better to wait and do a long weekend in the Fall. We are looking at 3 weekends 9/25-9/27, 10/2-10/4 and 10/16-10/18. Probably the later ones will be better but I'll let you know as soon as we confirm them.
4. Next year is the 15th year of Titan Tempo Show Choir (I Believe!) and we will be doing an Anniversary Show. It will be all numbers we have done in the past and a lot of "Mash-Ups". In addition after doing a lot of musical theater the last few years it will be a pop/rock show. Don't worry musical theater junkies, we will still have the opportunity do our theater numbers during class. So... that is all the news for this moment. I have been working hard to come up with a show that will be fun, energetic and with a ballad that brings everyone to tears.
Stay safe and healthy. Peace to All.
T. Moore (Papa T., T. Money)
