Safety Fence Installed
Good evening Fields Road families,
We hope this message finds you well. We wanted to inform you that a safety fence has been installed on the school property over the weekend. The primary purpose of this fence is to create a barrier between some classrooms, the mini playground area, and the road. It surrounds the blacktop area in front of the school.
There are two entranceways to the blacktop area on either side of the fence. We kindly request your assistance in reminding your children not to touch or attempt to climb on the fence. Safety is our top priority, and we want to ensure that everyone remains safe and secure.
Please instruct your children to walk calmly over to the openings of the gate to enter the blacktop area for the arrival lineup. Looking for the openings at the gate area is a new process for our students, and we understand that it may take some time for them to adjust. Rest assured, there will be adults and patrols available outside to assist and guide them through this transition.
This safety measure has been put in place to enhance the well-being of our students and maintain a secure environment. We appreciate your cooperation and support in helping us ensure the safety of everyone at our school.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to the main office.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Enrichment Opportunities
We're excited to inform you that for the fall semester, we have organized nine diverse after-school activities sponsored by the PTA. These offerings encompass a wide range of interests, from sports to creative workshops, including options such as science, karate, chess, and programming. We encourage you to visit our website https://fieldsroadpta.memberhub.com/w/activities and register for these activities as soon as possible, as many of the classes are set to commence next week. Thank you for your active participation and support!
Membership
I just want to remind you that we are still going strong for our PTA Membership Drive through October 6th!
Members are the main source of collaboration and revenue for the PTA. As parents, not only are we the key drivers of collaboration between the parent community and the team at Fields Road Elementary, but our dues and donations are the only way we can afford to pay for all the great PTA events, activities, and programs throughout the school year. As a reminder, you do need to sign up for the PTA each year.
Help your student and their class win an Ice Cream Party and $50 Scholastic dollars for their classroom!
Sign up here: https://fieldsroadpta.memberhub.com/store/items/709280
***If you would like to sign up and pay by cash or check, please reach out to me and I can get you a paper form to complete.
I just want to thank everyone who has already signed up as well as the wonderful volunteers who have already stepped up this year to help bring Fields Road some great events.

Dear Families:
The PTA-sponsored Scholastic Book Fair is always one of the most anticipated events of the school year – but we need volunteers to make it happen!
No experience is needed, and there are many ways you can help, such as:
· coordinating donations (food or prizes) for book fair events
· passing along information about the fair through flyers, emails, and social media
· transforming the media center before and after the fair
· running registers and fundraising games
· helping students find books
Volunteering at the book fair is also a great way to meet teachers, staff, and other FRES families, and to see what happens at school during the day. As an added bonus, volunteers get early access to their student’s favorite titles. But the best perk of all is seeing how much joy the book fair brings to so many people – there really is nothing like it!
If you can offer an hour or two – or more – of your time and talent, it would be greatly appreciated.
Click here if you’re ready to sign up now, or join me for a live, general information session on Monday, October 2, 6:00pm-6:30pm, on the PTA Facebook page. Can’t make it to the session? You can post your questions ahead of time, and I’ll answer them in the comments.
I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Cheers,
FRES PTA Book Fair Co-chair
