HHSO is excited to be offering a trip to California for students that are interested! The exact date is still TBD, but it will take place in late Spring. Be on the lookout for more information, but for now, here is a flyer with some details!!
Meet ELA Teacher Ms. A!!!
Hello! I am Anissa, but my students call me Ms. A! I am a freshman and sophomore English teacher. I have been with HHSO for almost two years now and I can say that the student interactions during exams, tutoring, or our virtual cafes are my absolute favorite part of my job. You will ALWAYS see me in virtual cafes chatting with you. In my free time, I am eating chocolate cake which is my fave, hiking, or watching a good show on Netflix. My favorite era of literature is Shakespeare's era as I think he is such a genius and influential! I am a firm believer in the Lochness monster and really anything mythical so let’s discuss:)
Meet Coach Wilma!
Hi there! I am Wilma and I am an academic coach with HHSO! I am 27 years old, I love to crochet, and play with my dog Pooby who is seen here!:) I have been with HHSO for a little over a year and can confidently say my favorite part of my job is getting to be a part of students' “AHA” moment. I love being able to be a part of their journey and assist them in any way I can. My favorite subject in school was writing and I am a firm believer in dragons and witchcraft so working in a high school environment is especially fun for me, especially around the romance era of English. I love a good cheesecake and Pooby likes peanut butter:)
National Blood Donor Month
January is National Blood Donor Month. About 328 million people currently live in the U.S. Each year, approximately 6.8 million people in the U.S. donate blood. Annually, this adds up to about 13.6 million units of whole blood collected for donation in the U.S. The Red Cross provides about 40% of our nation’s blood and blood cell components to donors. Your blood donations are used for patients in need of surgery, cancer treatment, and transfusions for blood loss from traumatic injuries.
If you are 18 or older, please consider donating blood at your nearest Red Cross location. You could potentially save a life by giving blood. Fun Fact: You can also learn your blood type as well if you don't already know it!
Become a Blood Donor: It's the gift that keeps on giving! Click here for more information!
