Updates & Reminders

The Byrd Bazaar is this Tuesday, November 14th, from 5:30- 7:00 PM. Want dinner delivered at the Bazaar and want to benefit our school? Sign up below. We hope to see you there!
The Byrd Parent Group (BPG) will meet in the cafeteria on Monday, November 13th, at 6:00 PM. All are invited to attend!
We are collecting items for the Goochland Christmas Mother! Please send in any oatmeal, canned vegetables, pork 'n' beans, or crackers by November 16th.
Thanksgiving break is coming up soon! School will be closed from Wednesday 11/22 through Friday 11/24.
Don't forget to send back The Schoolstore Fundraising envelope to the office. Students will win fun prizes just for helping!

Byrd Bazaar

Are you attending the Byrd Bazaar on November 14th? You can pre-order a pizza to have ready for pick up at the school! Orders due by 11/13. Order HERE.

Girls on the Run

Our Girls on the Run 5K is Wednesday, November 15th, at 2:45 on the BES track. GOTR families are invited to attend!

Don't forget to register for the Bryan Park 5K on November 19th! The deadline to register is November 15th. More info here.

BES Winter Program

Save the date! The BES Winter Program (grades 2-5) entitled "In December" will be held at the GHS auditorium on December 4th at 6:00 PM.

GCPS Sense of Belonging and Inclusion Survey

5th Grade Parents:

Please find a preview copy of the GCPS Sense of Belonging and Inclusion Survey HERE. This survey will be administered during school hours to students in grades 5-12 in the window of November 6-17.

The purpose of the survey is to provide input on how GCPS is doing towards meeting our annual School Board Equity Goals established per policy JFHB/GBAA so that we can create an even better experience for all of our students. Any parent wishing to opt their child out of taking this survey may do so by sending an email or written letter to James B. Hopkins, Principal (jhopkins@glnd.k12.va.us).

Thursday December 21st: Student early dismissal.
Friday December 22nd- Friday January 5th: Winter break. School closed.
Monday January 15th: MLK Jr. Day. School Closed.

Please notify the office about transportation changes via email at: beseagles@glnd.k12.va.us.

If you have daily transportation needs, please make sure you provide changes at the beginning of each week for the entire week. This allows staff time to communicate all necessary changes and avoids confusion when a call is not received. We appreciate your support.

Parents who wish to chaperone a field trip or volunteer regularly in our school must submit to a background check every 2 years using the BIB portal. The process is completely electronic. If you are having problems with the system, contact Demetra Harris at dharris@glnd.k12.va.us.
