Happy March SIS families!

I can't believe it but we have arrived to the month of March! As we approach spring break and the final months of the school year, don't forget to take some time to unwind and reflect on all of the amazing things we've learned and grown from thus far. We are stronger because of the adversity we have faced, and remain united as we continue to support one another.

I am so very proud of the student growth we've seen during this pretty crazy school year. I could not be more proud of what has been accomplished as a district, building, and community!

We will be completing ISASP testing at the end of this month. You will find a copy of the testing schedule below.

As we approach state testing, please help remind your student to:

• get a good night sleep before every testing day
• do their very best and give 100% each time
• be on time to school each day
• eat a healthy breakfast

Here are a few friendly reminders from the office staff. Please let the front office know if you have any questions.

• Please keep sending water bottles to school with your student(s). Due to COVID, water fountains are still shut off in the building. However, the water filling stations are still operational.

• Communication regarding absences and tardies should be sent to both the classroom teacher and Mrs. Arwine (school secretary).

• Please remind your child to check the lost and found for any of their items they may have misplaced.

Please help remind your child(ren) to bring their jacket, hat, and gloves to school. Unless there is inclement weather, recess will be outside. It is important that students come to school with the proper outdoor accessories. Please be sure to label all winter items with your child's name. This will ensure that their items will get back to them if they happen to forget or misplace them in the building or on the playground.

We will be ending sledding on Thursdays during recess for this school year. Most of the snow has melted from the hill, and fortunately we have some warm days ahead in the forecast!

Please remember that students will not be able to play on the left over snow piles without snow pants and boots.

We also recommend students pack an extra mask in their bag as some students have needed a mask change after playing outside at recess. Thank you!

Please continue to wear masks when in the school building. Gaiters, shields, and masks with vents are highly discouraged. Feel free to contact Mrs. Elijah or Mrs. Tabor with any questions regarding mask use.

Please help remind your child(ren) that all personal phones and electronic devices should be turned off and stored in their backpack during school hours. Students should let their teacher or the office know if they need to use the phone to contact a parent. Text messages and phone calls should not happen on personal devices, other than during an emergency.
