Parent Teacher Conferences Next Thursday and Friday
Students will not be in school on the 23rd and 24th due to Parent Teacher Conferences. Please check your Dojo or email to register for either in person or virtual meetings with your student's teachers. If you need help registering, you can call the school office at 371-6515. We are excited to review student progress and will work with families to develop academic support plans if needed. If you can not attend next week, reach out to your student's teachers as you can meet with them at any time during the school year. We are partners in your child's learning and look forward to collaborating on how to help them be academically successful.
Students v Staff Basketball Game is Tuesday
In order to promote student work completion and positive interactions with classmates and teachers, the PBIS committee has been running a student incentive since February 24th. Students were told at our Scholastic PAWS assembly that they can earn a chance to take on the teachers in a staff versus students basketball game. In order to qualify, students must earn 5 PAWS points each for Acting Responsible (completing work) and Showing Respect. Teachers have been receiving daily points updates to track how their students are doing. If a student doesn't want to play they can still watch or they can participate in an art incentive. The event will take place on Tuesday afternoon and if the teachers win the students will have a dress for success day on Wednesday. If the students win they can have a pajama day. We hope to offer a similar 4th quarter incentive where the students will play the staff in kickball.
Kindergarten Information Night is Coming Soon ...
We need your help spreading the word - Gearity will host our Kindergarten Information Night on March 21st from 6-7 pm. Please let any family members who live in University Heights or neighbors who have future kindergarten students know about the event. Families will have an opportunity to meet our Kindergarten team. They will also learn how to register their new student, about readiness assessments, and how to find important school information (such as busing, daily menus, academic programs, etc...).
