Dear Salt Creek District 48 Families,

It was such a pleasure to meet many of you at the FTC School Supply Pickup yesterday! I can tell that so many of our students and you, the families, are just about ready for school to start. Yesterday was the first day we opened the buildings for our staff so they could start returning to set up their classrooms. Our custodians and maintenance crews worked very hard to ensure everything is clean and ready for the school year. It is great to see the schools buzzing again with our staff members! Believe it or not, we eagerly anticipate our students' return. The partnership between home and school is integral to your child's success, and we are committed to fostering and nurturing this connection. Together, we can create an environment that supports and empowers our students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. One of our goals this year is to increase the collaboration between parents, teachers, and the community, as we believe this is the cornerstone of a well-rounded education. We plan to send this district-wide newsletter at least once per month, and our schools will continue to send you their newsletters weekly. On behalf of the Board of Education and the entire District 48 staff, we look forward to working closely with you to ensure a positive and fulfilling learning experience for every student. Salt Creek 48's SummerU program ran from July 17 - August 3, with 53 students participating. Thank you to our teachers for working hard to find creative ways to engage students with their daily lessons. They also did an excellent job integrating some "fun" into their lessons, which included a lemonade war at the end of the program. We would also like to recognize Mrs. Ross for her hard work as the Principal during SummerU. She managed the day-to-day work of collaborating with staff, communicating with parents, working with transportation, and most importantly, engaging with our students.

• Do you know anyone that may want to work a short time during the day? We are looking for a substitute Lunchroom Supervisor at AMS from 10:30-12:00 from August 23 to approximately October 1.
• Do you only have a few days a week to work? We have the perfect job for you! Stella May Swartz is looking for a lunchroom supervisor on Tuesday and Thursday.
• Salt Creek Primary is in need of a part-time Preschool Assistant in the AM. Please apply here.
• Albright Middle School is in need of a 1:1 Special Education Teaching Assistant. Please apply here.
