American Education Week
The theme for this year's American Education Week is: Fairy-tales and Fantasy.
Here is a breakdown of daily activities which we will participate in to celebrate the week.
Monday, November 12th: Wear a t-shirt/ sweater or jewelry that has a fairy tale/ fantasy character on it.
Tuesday, November 13th: Parent / Guardian and Student Luncheon. Wear School Spirit wear
Wednesday, November 14th: Wear a silly hat or hairband.
Thursday, November 15th: Mix and match clothing day
Friday, November 16th: Dress as a wizard, princess, unicorn, etc. (*friendly, not frightful outfits, please*) and Family Movie Night (Incredibles 2) at Grewenow, hosted by GFTC.
The Dragon Essentials
With that, our Grewenow staff developed what is called "The Dragon Essentials" or expectations for how to treat others and find success at school. The 22 guidelines which are not just rules, but a "way to be" were groups into four categories: Listening, Following Along, "Try it Out," and "The Golden Rule."
The link to view Grewenow Elementary's "Dragon Essentials" document is below this message.
We are excited to share this message with you, and to work with our families in getting to the heart of developing students who truly show the Dragon Way wherever they go!
General Announcements
Attention 5th Grade Students !
Attendance
A child cannot be excused more than ten (10) days in a full school year. As per Wisconsin State Statutes, all absences beyond ten (10) days would be marked unexcused and treated accordingly. Any days missed after the 10 days, no matter at what point during the school year, will need a medical excuse for each day they missed after that 10th day. If a medical note is not received, the days are marked unexcused or truant.
Cold Weather
Parents and Guardians,
The cold weather is upon us and we ask that you please ensure that children are coming to school dressed appropriately with with coats, hats, gloves and scarfs, etc.
Many students are still attending school in t-shirts, shorts and/or thin shirts and no coat. Such attire makes for a very chilly recess.
If families are in need of the items mentioned above, please contact Mrs. Wideman at 262-359-5974 and she will be more than happy to assist you.
