DC Public Schools is looking for 32 parents and guardians (four per Ward) to join Chancellor Lewis D. Ferebee’s Parent Advisory Board for the 2021 – 2022 School Year. Advisory Board participants will provide input on the implementation of DCPS policies, priorities, and new initiatives. We are looking for a diverse group of parents and guardians to represent all students' and families’ voices across the district.

Applications are available in English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Vietnamese and Amharic and the deadline to apply is May 14.

Topics addressed during the meetings may include, COVID-19 recovery, equity and race, school operations, attendance, mental health support, social-emotional learning, DCPS budget, special education, college and career programming, and more.

Join the team! The Executive Board of the Hyde-Addison PTA is accepting nominations for 9 officer positions for the 2021-22 school year:

• Vice President
• Treasurer
• Secretary
• Vice President for Aftercare and Enrichment
• Vice President for Communications
• Vice President for Events
• Vice President for Fundraising
• Vice President for Room Parent Engagement

Please consider those around you (nominate yourself!) who are committed to supporting the educational mission and goals of the school; promoting the welfare of our children at school and in the home; and strengthening and sustaining the community so that the school teachers, staff, and families may cooperate in the physical, mental, social, and emotional development of our students.

A candidate must be a parent or guardian of a student at Hyde-Addison Elementary School during the 2021-22 school year, and all terms are for 1 year beginning on July 1, 2021. See the Hyde-Addison PTA Bylaws for more information about Officers and Elections (Article VI) and Duties of Officers (Article VII).

Nominations are due midnight, Sunday, May 16. Candidates will be announced on Monday, May 17, and the election will be held online starting that day and close Sunday, May 23. (Note that our bylaws require paper ballots (Article VI), but these extraordinary times clearly call for extraordinary measures.)
