WBMSHS Principal Update to Families
Weeks of 10/10/22 - 10/21/22
We just wrapped up a few busy weeks with lots of exciting events. Our Homecoming Weekend was a great success filled with competitive games, a cow plop and our annual homecoming dance. The weather could not have been better. Thank you Mother Nature!
Parent conferences are just around the corner. Stay tuned for more information on how to sign up for an appointment with your child's teachers.
Have a great weekend.
Mrs. Page
New Update
A Sneak Peak into the MSHS Classrooms!
- Grade 7 reading is starting "Robin Hood". We are completing a scavenger hunt from Boldoutlaw.com to gain background knowledge. We're also going to write a few paragraphs on this question- Robin Hood would steal from the wealthy to provide for the needy. In your opinion, is this ok? I am looking forward to reading them!
- 7th and 8th graders are finishing up their first essay of the year!
- The Social Studies teachers and grade 12 students are actively working on the senior projects proposals.
- Mrs. Brogna's A & P class practice suturing on bananas to close up wounds.
The 7th graders will be moving onto a spooky, short stories Halloween Unit that includes, "The Tell Heart", "The Monkey's Paw", "The Monster Due on Maple Street" and much more.
- The 8th grade will be diving into the mind of Mary Shelley Frankenstein in her classic horror novel Frankenstein.
- Ms. DeCastro and Ms. Widdop's middle school classes just finished up their football unit. They played a variety of modified games such as ultimate football and capture the football. Students who did not want to play a competitive game were able to practice passing skills and do some fitness walking. Next week they will start the lacrosse unit
- Mrs. Pope's Biotechnology MOCK Crime Scene was held today out back.
Congratulations to Emma Maher, Grade 8, who was selected as WB Project 351 Representative

Clubs and Activities News
Mr. McMurray, Mrs. MacMillan and the Class of 2023 want to thank all who contributed to their fundraising efforts by donating beautiful gifts and gift baskets that were raffled off at the homecoming football game. We are truly grateful for all of you
The annual NHS Trunk or Treat will be Saturday, October 29 from 2-4:30pm at the MSHS. The rain date is Sunday, October 30, 2-4:30pm. There is a suggested donation of $5 per child and will benefit the NHS Scholarship Fund. We do not have Venmo, cash or checks are appreciated.
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month and Día De Los Muertos, the Global Citizens Club is creating a community ofrenda in the orange commons. An ofrenda is an altar that is constructed in memory of our loved ones who have passed on. If you would like to place a memory of a beloved person in your life who has passed on, we are asking for your assistance with decorating the ofrenda. Beginning next Monday, 10/24, through the end of the week, you will be able to place an item on the ofrenda in their memory. Nothing of value, please! It could be a framed picture or something that represents a favorite pastime, such as a baseball hat or a game. If you have any questions you can email Mrs. Fougere at afougere@wbridgewater.com or Mr. Ennis at zennis@wbridgewater.com.
MS Powerblock Challenge
3 on 3 Basketball Tournament
Students signed up in groups of four or five within their class to compete in a 3 on 3 basketball tournament during select powerblocks. There is a Freshman/Sophomore division and a Junior/Senior division. It has been great to see a variety of students get the opportunity to compete and grow class pride!

A Message from Ann Marie Grinder, Food Service Director
Greetings from the MSHS Wildcat Café! October has been a busy month- most days the MSHS Food Service staff prepares over 400 lunches!
Just a reminder that both breakfast and lunch are free this school year! The WB Food Services link has more info and menus.
Each student is offered 1 free breakfast and 1 free lunch per day. Extra entrées are $2.00 and additional a la carte items such as bottled water, cookies, crackers and ice cream can also be purchased but a student must have money on their lunch account for these extras. All items served meet strict state and federal nutrition standards. Money can be added to a student’s account two ways:
· Cash or a check can be brought to the cashier at arrival or towards the end of a meal. To keep the line moving as quickly as possible, we no longer accept money in the line.
· Electronic payments using MySchoolBucks. You will need your student’s 10-digit student ID (SASID#) to set up an account. Even if you don’t add money using MySchoolBucks, it allows you to monitor cafeteria transactions until they graduate!
We are looking to hire cafeteria substitutes. Interested individuals can contact me at agrinder@wbridgewater.com or at (508)894-1220.
Thank you,
Ann Marie Grinder, Food Service Director
