PRINCIPAL'S NOTE
I hope everyone enjoyed the extra long weekend last week. Thank all of you for joining us today for our fabulous Friends and Family Thanksgiving Feast. So nice to have our building filled with people again! Kudos to Miss Anna, Miss Faye, and Miss Nicole for all of their hard work in preparing our delicious meal. We also appreciate the extra help from Dr. Manuel, Ms. Joseph, Mrs. Clark, Ms. Rent, Mrs. Craney, and Chief Skroski, who pitched in by serving. In my almost ten years here, I think this was our best turnout!
We are looking forward to seeing you at Parent/Teacher conferences on Monday afternoon and evening. This is a great opportunity for you to have a conversation with your child's teacher about academic and social progress, strengths, and areas for improvement. You'll hear about what your student is learning and how you might be able to help at home. If you have not made an appointment, please reach out to your child's teacher or Mrs. Doran to schedule one.
On another note, teachers have asked that I share this reminder that toys and other items should not be brought to school unless special arrangements have been made with the student's teacher. We are not responsible if items are lost, stolen, broken or traded in school or on the bus.
Finally, as mentioned previously, this will be the FINAL PRINT edition of the Log. Moving forward, we will only be sending out an electronic version of the Explorers Log. If there is a special circumstance that would require you to have a printed copy, please contact Mrs. Doran at tdoran@rsu1.org.
FIFTH GRADE FIELD TRIP TO GMRI
Please drop your student off at PES by 8AM on Friday, December 2nd, to depart on their field trip to the Gulf of Maine Research Institute. The GMRI bus leaves promptly at 8:15; anyone who misses the bus will have work to do as they stay at school. The class should return from the trip around 12:30.
REMINDERS
If you can donate a homemade pie for the December 3rd Scholarship Craft Fair, please complete and return the enclosed pie form to your child's teacher by November 18th. Pies may be dropped off in the office on Friday,
December 2nd. Students who donate pies will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win a fantastic winter themed prize!
Monday and Tuesday, November 21st & 22nd are half days; bagged lunch is provided for students who order it. Students are dismissed at noon, and buses arrive home 3 hours earlier than usual.
There is NO SCHOOL Wednesday through Friday, November 23rd - 25th. We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving Break!
