We are excited to welcome students back into School!! Tuesday, February 16, 2020 we will begin Hybrid learning, as we welcome back our Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K students will attend Monday-Thursday) and B Day (Tuesday and Thursday) Kindergarten and 1st Grade students. On Wednesday, February 17th, our A Day (Wednesday) Kindergarten and 1st Grade students will join us.

As a reminder, there will be another Parent Q&A Zoom on Wednesday, February 24th @ 3:00 p.m. if you have any questions you may have about the return to school. A zoom link will be sent closer to the date of the Q&A. Thanks.

In-Person Only Students: All students PK-5 will have the option of taking home meals on the days they are at LES for in-person learning. A survey was sent out to PK, K, and 1 families only at this time. PK, K and 1 families, please complete the form by Tuesday, February 16th to help us plan and to let us know if you are interested in taking part in receiving these meals to include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack. Students will need to be able to transport meals home.

Virtual Only Students: Meals will be available for pick up at LES on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Kindergarten: 10:45-11:15

First Grade: 12:15-12:45

Second Grade: 11:15-11:45

Third Grade: 11:45-12:15

Fourth Grade: 12:45-1:15

Fifth Grade: 1:15-1:45

In addition to these lunch times, teachers will be sharing a more detailed schedule for the day.

The week of February 15th is A week.

• Early pick up has to occur by 2:30 p.m. daily to allow for the front office staff to prepare for dismissal
• Please call the Main Office (301) 475-0250 x31101 to let us know when you are on the way for pick up. A staff member will bring your child to you in the vestibule area
• Please use the ‘Green Note’ (attached below) to alert office staff of early pick up (please list the time and do not forget to call when you are on your way), change in dismissal plan to include someone else picking up in the parent transport loop, alert of an absence or return from absence.
• No bus passes will be issued at this time for students to go from school to the home of others

Recognition Assembly (PK-2 @ 10:00 a.m. AND 3-5 @ 11:00 a.m.) on Friday, February 19, 2021. A zoom link will be sent closer to the date of the Assembly. Thanks. . During the month of March, we will feature students to share their success stories of how L.E.S. is helping them achieve their goals during the morning announcements. If you would like to enter for a chance to participate, here's what you need to do.

1. Visit https://flipgrid.com/f7ece721 to upload your 60-second video answering the following question: How is L.E.S. helping you achieve your goals? Your video must be posted no later than Friday, February 19, 2021, in order to participate.

The LES SCA is sponsoring another Lunch Bunch on Friday, February 19, 2021, from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm. Join us for the whole time or part of the time on Google Meets using Meet Code LESSCA. All are welcome!

The St. Mary's County Health Department, in collaboration with several community partners, is seeking information about student opportunities to walk and/or bike to school. The goal of this survey is to collect your thoughts about children walking and biking to school. While concerns for safety during the COVID-19 pandemic are keeping our children out of school right now, please respond based on what your child was doing before in-person learning paused. The survey will take about 5 - 10 minutes to complete. We ask that each family complete only one survey per school their children attend. If you have more than one child at the same school, please fill out the survey for the child with the next birthday from today's date. After you have completed this survey, your responses will be kept confidential and neither your name nor your child's name will be associated with any results.
