Middle School News

The month of April brings a lot of great things. We usually start to see warmer weather, spring sports seasons are up and running and an increase in urgency to get a myriad of things done before school is over. The middle school has been very intentional and deliberate with our time this year. If you have been following along, you may remember that we started the school year with our "row the boat" mantra, because we wanted to make sure we were all rowing in the same direction. We have also been intentional about adding others to our boat. The month of April is just another step in that direction with our Fitness Fiasco challenge that continues to build on student-teacher relationships, and adds in community members and parents. The more we all work together the greater the benefit to our young people. We'll never be done rowing, but the more people in the boat, the easier it becomes.

The #luckytobeamustang campaign during the month of March continued to work towards gratitude. The other goal was to continue building a presence on our social media accounts to improve the communication and connection with the PCM community. The SEL team did a great job of making sure our facebook page was full of reasons that PCM is such a great place. The middle school facebook page saw an increase in engagement of over 800% during the month of March. If you have any feedback that will help in the area of community connection and communication please let us know.

The Gratitude Message Form has been a great addition to our school. The positive messages being sent to our PCM team have been greatly appreciated. There's no better reason to smile than giving someone else a reason to smile. Keep sending messages to let PCM staff know just how much they are appreciated.

The staff and students have also added a lot of gratitudes to our gratitude wall in the lunchroom. The pictures below show a comparison from the first week, and now. We have a lot to be grateful for at PCM.

Each month we will be selecting two Mustangs from each grade level who teachers feel have demonstrated what it means to be Respectful, Responsible, and Positive Role Models.
