Early College Parent Info Meeting
For ALL Parents who's Students are in a College Course in the Spring Semester!
We are well on our way to transitioning to an Early College High School! Right now, we have 64 Sac New Tech Students enrolled in 97 college courses at Sac City College! Several of our current seniors are taking 2-3 courses this semester alone!
We have established a relationship with the folks at Sac City College and as a result, they are partnering with us to provide our families and students with resources to help ensure the success of our students in this dual enrollment program. THIS IS A VERY EXCITING TIME TO BE A TIMBERWOLF!
That being said, we are going to have a meeting just for YOU, our parents. This meeting will replace the Parent Power Hour for October. The representatives from Sac City College are going to talk to you about information you need and the resources that are available to your students while they are taking their college courses!
We will be making individual phone calls to personally invite you to come. You can also RSVP to the event here! If you do not get a phone call from us, it's probably because your student is not going to be enrolled in a college course in the Spring Semester. But that's ok! You are still welcome to join us. Just RSVP below and we will see you there!

IXL Math at Sac New Tech!
IXL for ALL Math Students!
We are super excited to bring IXL math to our school! Please read the attached letter that will tell you all about IXL and how it can help your student gain skills in math while also closing any math gaps that may have occurred during distance learning.
Students who are currently in math classes will be doing 15 minutes of IXL everyday at the beginning of their math class. Students are also encouraged to do an additional 10 minutes a day at home. We are asking YOU, our parents to support your students by ensuring they do IXL for a minimum of 10 minutes every day at home. This will radically increase their math skills!
Today, when your student gets home, have them log in to IXL and show you their progress. This is a great conversation starter for parents to discuss how your student is doing in school.
If you have any questions about the IXL program, please do not hesitate to give us a call!
Get Yours NOW!
We are excited to announce that we have Spirit Wear! It is so great seeing so many students now wearing our Timberwolf Swag! Click the "Spirit Wear" title above to order your spirit wear TODAY!

Parent Hours Update
Parent Participation Opportunities this Month!
We will be sending your hours to you this month. If you feel like there is an error, please be sure to contact us immediately to fix it.
30 hours of Parent Participation may seem like a lot, but it goes by really fast and it's easier than you think. We want our parents to be involved in their child's education and we also want to be partners with you for the best possible outcome for all of our students. This is why we ask ALL of our families to volunteer and.or donate to fulfill 30 hours of participation time per year. For the month of October, here's how you can earn your time.
- Join the PTSA - you get 1 hour per family member who joins!
- Attend Family Lunch Day - be sure to sign in when you arrive!
- Sac City College Parent Meeting - everyone is welcome, but we especially want the parents of our Spring Semester college students. Please RSVP above!
- Donate to Stock the Staffroom - 1 hour for every $10 (please provide receipts)
- Come and observe your student in class (we welcome parents to come and see what their child is doing in classes) - time equivalent
- Parent/Teacher meetings - if you have a meeting with any school personnel, be sure to document it, it counts!
- Refer a student, if they enroll at New Tech, you get ALL 30 hours!
Each time you donate your time or resources to the school, be sure you complete our Parent Participation form in the front office so we can count your time!

Hispanic Heritage Month comes to an End
September 15 - October 15
We have had SO much fun celebrating many different Hispanic and Latin Cultures. We started the celebration with a school-wide Flag Hanging Ceremony on September 15th. Then on the 22nd, we danced to Hispanic music during Club Rush. On Friday, the 29th we had an assembly with special guest speakers. Huge thank you to Mr. Toffoletti from LULAC (League of United Latin American Citizens), and Mr. Joe Flores, City Parks Commissioner and Sacramento Bee Latino Change Maker. On October, 6th we are having Family Lunch Day and fun activities like mini altar crafting (for Dia De Los Muertos), Mini Maraca crafts, and Sugar Skull Coloring. To end our month long celebration, on October 20th we will have a school-wide Hispanic Culture Fair! Each Advisory class has been assigned a Hispanic or Latin Country to research. During the fair, booths will be set up with a game and a food from each country for other students to visit and explore. This has been such a fun experience for all of our students. We are looking forward to celebrating many more cultures throughout the school year. Pictures and videos of all of our activities can be found on our Instagram Pages @sacnewtech and @principalmartin2020.
