Spring Portraits!


DON'T FORGET!


Friday, March 31 Strawbridge Studios will be at Pontiac to take Spring Portraits.


This is a PREPAY photo shoot for students who desire to order Spring Portraits.


Order envelopes were sent home in your child's Communication Folders.


Please return those envelopes to school before March 31 if you would like to have your child's portrait made that day.


Thank you for supporting this important fund raising opportunity for Pontiac.

Join in the Fun!

Join us on Pontiac's playground Saturday April 1st from 9-11 am to support the Hydrocephalus Walk! Hydrocephalus is a disease that several students in our district as well as at our school live with on a daily basis. There will be snacks, games, face painting, and more! The cost is free, but donations will be graciously accepted! All proceeds will go towards finding a cure for Hydrocephalus.

How to Keep Your kids Reading Over Spring Break

Spring Break is almost here and many parents want a few tips to help keep their children engaged and reading over the break.


Below are a few suggestions:


1. Encouragement from parents and a supply of reading materials around the house (books, newspapers, comics, magazines and online articles, etc.)


2. Visit the newly opened library located inside R2i2 at Sandhills.


3. Read with and to your child 15 minutes each night.

Discuss vocabulary and unknown words.


4. Encourage children to visualize as they read. Make a picture in your head like watching TV.


5. Limit amount of time on electronics. They can become addictive and take away valuable reading time.


6. Spend time outside with nature reading a book.
