Athletic physicals for incoming 9th-12th graders will take place in the Outback from 4:30-6pm Wednesday May 11th, all medical history and paperwork should be completed and signed by the parent prior to the physical.

YEARBOOKS ARE ON THEIR WAY!!
Yearbooks are scheduled to be distributed the week of May 16th during MegaLunch. Check the lists posted outside the Counseling Center and next to the library to see if YOUR copy has been paid for. Wait List students will not be listed but need to bring their payment to Mrs. Gilley Room F210 before Friday, May 13th if they want to pick their book up during the regular distribution days.
Pending on time delivery of the books, "Senior Sneak Peek" Pick Up will be Tuesday, May 17th during MegaLunch. Juniors will get their's on Wed., May 18th, and Sophomores will pick their's up on Thursday, May 19th. NGC distribution will take place on Friday, May 20th during MegaLunch.
Please have your student listen to the daily announcements for any change in information.

Volleyball Hosting a 4 on 4 Co-ed Volleyball Tournament
Weatherford’s Lady Roo Volleyball Program is fundraising for their upcoming season by putting on a 4 on 4 co-ed volleyball tournament open to all grades 7th and up and yes, this includes adults!! Games will be on May 14th starting at 9:00am. The cost is $10 per player—you may have up to 6 players per team should you want to sub but only 4 players on the court at one time. Spectator entry fee will be $2.00, payable upon entrance. Please submit forms and payment no later than Tuesday, May 10th to Natalie Gonzales, at Weatherford High School Classroom K104. You can get more information from your high school girls'volleyball coaches.

Brennan Weikel Memorial Scholarship: The Brennan Weikel Memorial Scholarship for $1,000 was established to honor Brennan Weikel and his dream of becoming a mechanical engineer. This scholarship is for a senior who is pursuing a major in a Science & Engineering program and has at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Applicants will need to include a 500-word essay, a letter of recommendation, a copy of their college acceptance letter, and a transcript with their application. The recipient selection is based on academic performance, financial need, school or community service activities, and essay evaluation. The deadline is May 13 and applications are available in the Counseling Center.
The Phoenix Masonic Lodge Scholarship for $1,000 has been extended until May 18, 2016. This scholarship is for students who will be attending Weatherford College. Awards will be based on financial need, community service, and GPA. Applications are available in the Counseling Center and students will need to write a one-page essay on “What does community service mean to me and how will college prepare me for a career that includes community service.”

News from the WHS Band
Colorguard Solo and Ensemble at Colleyville Heritage High School. We had 4 solos come away with a 1st division. These students are Taylor Lothridge, Haylee Reynolds, Eli King and Shelbie Lawson. Zoie Plyler and Haylee Reynolds also made a 1st division on their duet and scored 97 out of 100. All of these students are advancing to the all-star solo and ensemble event this Saturday at Lake Ridge High School.
The Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band 1 both made earned the UIL Sweepstakes Award last week by making a 1st division in concert and a 1st division in sight-reading. This is the Wind Symphony's 7th straight sweepstakes earning a 1st division in UIL Marching, Concert and Sightreading.
