PTO Update
Welcome back to school! We are so excited to be back and ready to support staff and students in old and new ways. Our first meeting is October 1 at 7 pm in the CIS library. For those not ready to come to a meeting in person, please look for an email with instructions how to join virtually. The PTO purchased lanyards for masks for all staff and students, and looking around in the schools it looks like they are getting good use. PTO assisted with 4th Grade Night at CIS, allowing students and parents to see their new building and meet their teacher. We are not planning a fall fundraiser like usual, we know many families are dealing with so much and do not want to add to it. We know this year is different, but look forward to being a constant support for Central.
Thanks,
Stephanie Redlingshafer
PTO President

Introducing Mrs. Bagley - School Social Worker
Hi! I am Maggie Bagley and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I’m so excited to have joined the Central staff. I will be the School Social Worker for Central Primary and Central Intermediate Schools. The School Social Worker works with some of our Special Education Students on Social, Emotional, and Behavioral skills. I also help complete evaluations on students to see if they may need extra services. In addition, the Social Worker can support staff, teachers, and students with our schools Social Emotional Learning goals. I’m looking forward to a great year!
Introducing Mrs. Whitney - School Counselor
I am super excited to be the 2020-2021 Central Intermediate counselor. I have been in the education field for the past sixteen years. I studied elementary education at ISU. I went on to get my masters in mental health and school counseling at Bradley University.
During this difficult time in our lives, please feel free to reach out to me with any question or concern. We are in this together!
Student Learning
Reading and Math
This past week we finished STAR benchmark testing for reading and math. The data is being analyzed to provide the proper support for students in the classroom and in small groups. If your student is eligible for these services, you will be contacted via email or phone. Small group intervention will begin to meet soon. Please take some time and sign up for Renaissance Home Connect! This will allow you to receive instant notifications as soon as your student completes a STAR test!
See the attached document for directions on how to sign up for Home Connect and use this link to sign up.
After reading the directions, click this Home Connect Link to sign up: Renaissance Home Connect
This feedback will be very beneficial to you as it will allow you to track your student’s progress. If you have any questions for us, please feel free to reach out!
