Coassessing

In the coteach modeling, coassessing is a key component.

Coassessing is when coteachers:

• Analyze the results of student assessment to determine next steps for instruction AND/OR

• Reflect on lesson implementation

Regardless of whether coteachers are reflecting on the results of student assessments or lesson implementation, the goal of coassessing is to allow data to inform instruction and increase PK-12 student learning.

Assessments might be formative (e.g., quickwrites, homework, exit slips) or summative (e.g., lab reports, tests, essays). In either case, coassessing conversations should focus on what students have learned, where there is room for growth, and next steps for instruction.
