Martin School Family Update

Dear Families,

As you can see from the photos, the hard work of our 2nd Grade students really paid off! They did an absolutely FANTASTIC job on Friday! I am tremendously proud of them all! A special thank you to Dr. Leahy for organizing such an fabulous production! Dr. Leahy, your care and attention to detail were obvious. You are a talent!

Also, with only at 8 school weeks left of this academic year, we are hard at work with end of year plans AND plans for next year! Believe it or not, teachers are already working on class lists! Time flies! But even so--there are still plenty of memories left to be made between now and our last day of school.

On behalf of all of the staff at Martin, we hope you have a wonderful vacation week! Our next day of school is Monday, April 24th.

The MSA's Playground Committee is organizing a clothing drive! Donations will be weighed and Martin will get paid for each pound collected by the Epilepsy Foundation! Items must be collected in 13+ gallon trash bags. Items accepted include:

• Clothing
• Outerwear
• Footwear (shoes, boots, heels, etc.)
• Accessories (belts, socks, ties, scarves, hats, etc.)
• Backpacks & handbags
• Costumes & dress-up clothes
• Household fabrics (bedding, sofa covers, tablecloths, towels, etc.)

We will be collecting donations from March 20-April 28. Donations may be dropped off at the Main Office.

Our next place of giving will be Lenore’s Pantry! Please consider donating to help those in need right here in our community.

Mrs. Leco’s Giving Trees will be collecting canned goods and other non perishable items starting April 24th through April 28th.

Let’s come together as a community and help stock Lenore’s Pantry!

The game is at Fenway Park on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 7:10 pm. The Red Sox will be playing the Blue Jays! Winner of this raffle will have TWO seats in Field box 19, Row A!!! See the picture for the view from the winning seats! Money raised will be used to fund a fully accessible play structure to be built at Martin School. The winner of the raffle will be drawn and announced on Friday, April 28.

Below are this year's MCAS dates. Please make every effort to ensure your children are present on the following days:

Grade 3 ELA: Tues., April 11 and Friday, April 14

Grade 3 Math: Wed., May 10 and Tues., May 16

Grade 4 ELA: Mon., April 10 and Thurs., April 13

Grade 4 Math: Thurs., May 11 and Thurs., May 18

Grade 5 ELA: Thurs., April 6 and Wed., April 12

This information is only for families of children who will be NEW to Martin during the next school year.

WHO SHOULD REGISTER:

*Any Kindergarten age eligible child – even if attending private Kindergarten.

*Any student entering Grade 1, who is NEW to North Attleboro Schools only.

• Kindergarten Guidelines – Child MUST be 5 on or before August 31, 2023 ~ NO EXCEPTIONS

• Grade 1 Guidelines – Child MUST be 6 on or before August 31, 2023 ~ NO EXCEPTIONS

WHAT YOU NEED: Create an Aspen account to be able to Enroll your student. You can upload all required documents at the end of the registration. Please fill in ALL fields. If documents are not uploaded you will receive an email stating your registration is not accepted until the documents have been received. A printable packet will be available if needed. Please make sure all forms and questions are filled out.

• Proof of Residency:

• One of the following: Current mortgage statement, property deed, settlement statement, current property tax bill or water bill, current lease or signed/notarized landlord living agreement.

• Two of the following: bank statement, payroll stub, cable, gas, oil, electric, home telephone bill (these must be dated within the past 30 days), home/renters insurance bill, car insurance or registration.

• One of the following: Valid MA Driver’s license, MA photo ID, passport or other government issued ID Of the parent or guardian.

• Original birth certificate with a seal (a hospital certificate is not acceptable).

• Most recent physical and immunizations with lead test date.

ALL required registration questions must be completed at time of registration

If you are missing paperwork, your child will NOT be registered until paperwork is received - No exceptions
