Mrs. Waggoner's News
August 16 & 17
Dear Parents,
Below you will find some special links and information. Please read this carefully. I will also be sending home the school handbook, dismissal slips, and a "parent interview" on the first day. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I would appreciate if you could fill out the interview and send it back in by Wednesday, August 22.
This year we are lucky enough to have other helpers within the classroom. You child may see or work with: Mrs. Walker - classroom assistant, Mrs. Schellentrager/Mrs. Kirby - Gifted, Mrs. Moses - fact fluency, Mr. Dugas - instructional coach, Mrs. Jones "Grandma Judy" - classroom volunteer. If you plan on volunteering to help out in school, please go to the board office soon to get your fingerprints and background check. Please let me know if you would like to volunteer in my classroom and I will see where I could use the help. :)
Students will not be receiving homework organizers this year in my classroom. Instead I will be using a system called the B.E.E. binder (Bring. Everything. Everyday. Passwords, a calendar, and important information will be stored in this binder. If you didn't already purchase supplies (or the binder), please do so soon. If students want to bring in personal supplies tomorrow and classroom supplies (wipes, baggies, tissues) Friday, that is completely fine.
I like to send out newsletters and will share the learning targets we are working on. During the first few weeks I will be adding in content. We will be working on lots of team building and rules/procedures at the beginning. At this time, students should be working on their math facts, begin reading 20 minutes a night, and playing outside for homework. I also communicate via the Remind APP, please sign up for that. If any student is working with an outside tutor, please send me the email address so that they can get connected to my newsletter.
Can't wait for this year! Talk with you soon,
Mrs. Waggoner
