Archives in South Dakota and their Digital Collections Zoom Session
October is Archives Month, and librarians across the state are welcome to join in celebrating by participating in a Zoom discussion with academic librarians hosted by the South Dakota State Library on Thursday, October 27 at 3:30 pm CST. Participants will learn how academic librarians at Augustana University, South Dakota State University, and the University of South Dakota are working to make collections in their library archives available digitally for all to access and use.
The Zoom presenters will include Elizabeth Cisar and Kelly Thompson (Augustana University), Michelle Christian (SDSU), and Danielle Loftus (USD). These academic librarians plan to discuss:
- how digitized collections are ideal resources for reference questions
- how to incorporate digitized collections into school or college projects
- learning about South Dakota history with digitized collections, and
- learning beyond the library building with 24/7 availability.
This Zoom session is open to all library audiences, including public, school, and academic libraries. Participants can join by clicking the Zoom link. There is no pre-registration required.
