I hope everyone had an excellent summer and that you all found time to do all of the things you enjoy! I am very excited for the 2019-2020 school year with you and your children. LEE is an amazing school and we are so fortunate to have an outstanding staff and such supportive families!

Below you will find some important information regarding Back to School Night, the first day of school, communication at LEE, Eagle's Nest and Nutritional Services. You will also find links for the 2019-2020 academic calendar, and school supplies.

Back to School Night will be held on Monday, August 12th, from 5:30pm -6:30 pm. Class lists (except for PK & Kindergarten) will be posted on Friday, August 9th at 3:00p.m. Once again this year, we will be doing a scavenger hunt. Come find your child’s classroom, meet the teacher, find out ways to support our school, enjoy a popsicle and say “Hi” to friends old and new! All grade levels are invited to attend!

The first day of school is on Tuesday, August 13th for 1st-5th grades. The school day at LEE is 8:20am to 3:00pm. Students are expected to be at school on time. Our first bell rings at 8:20am and the tardy bell rings at 8:25am. Due to supervision and safety reasons, students should not be dropped off before 8:10am. St. Vrain Valley School District has an attendance policy that LEE strongly follows. Please click here to familiarize yourself with this policy.

Preschoolers and Kindergartners DO NOT start classes until Thursday, August 15th. All kindergarten families will be contacted to come in for assessments on either August 14th or 15th. All preschool families will be contacted to come in for orientation on August 14th. If you have not been contacted about an assigned day/time by Thursday, August 8th, please contact the office. Please make sure that all registration documentation has been turned in. If you have you have questions about what documentation is needed, or you are unsure if you have completed this, please contact Nancy Olander in the front office.

Please click here for a list of items your student will need to bring to school. Since items on the supply list are for individual student use only, please mark your child's supplies with their name, both first and last.

If you are concerned about being able to buy school supplies for your children this fall, Crayons to Calculators is here to help! Crayons to Calculators, a collaboration among area non-profit organizations, is a community-wide school supply drive for students in need. Crayons to Calculators is focused on ensuring that all students in St. Vrain Valley public schools begin school with the supplies they need to succeed.

Longmont Estates will be receiving our backpacks on Thursday, August 8th. Backpacks are available on a first come, first served basis.

We believe that communication between school and home fosters the partnership vital to the success of our students. To support this belief, we use numerous methods to keep lines of communication open, including, but not limited to:

• E-mail updates sent from the school office

• Planners (3rd, 4th and 5th)

LEE also has a Principal Facebook page to help with communicating important dates, student/staff celebrations, and fun things happening at the school. Please “like” the “Longmont Estates Elementary Page” to get frequent updates.

To ensure that you receive all communication from LEE, please inform the office of any changes in address, email or phone number throughout the year.

The purpose of Eagle’s Nest before and after school child care program is to offer quality care within the school building. Eagle’s Nest is held in the Longmont Estates Elementary School cafeteria and gym. Our program provides a safe, structured and positive environment that supports student growth in a creative and structured environment.

At Longmont Estates, we recognize the importance of providing a quality, nurturing child care experience for your children. We realize that parents are looking for opportunities for their children to learn and play in a safe and welcoming environment. Eagle’s Nest is licensed through the Colorado Department of Human Services for children ages 5-12.

We are open from 7:00-8:20am before school and then again from 3:00-6:00pm after school.

Breakfast
Breakfast will be served at 8:05am. The price of school breakfast for elementary students is $1.50. Students who are enrolled in the free and reduced lunch program can receive a free breakfast.

Lunch
The price of a school lunch for elementary students is $3.25 per day. Please make checks for lunches payable to Nutrition Services, or you can pay online at lees.svvsd.org under the "Online Payments" tab. Milk, water, or juice may be purchased for $.50 per day by students who bring their own lunch.

Parents are welcome to eat breakfast or lunch with their child. The price for an adult breakfast is $2.00. Adult lunches with milk are $4.00. Please notify the school by 9:00am if you intend to purchase a lunch so the appropriate amount of food will be prepared.

Any student who needs free and reduced lunch this year will need to complete an application. A new application needs to be completed every year.These will be available at Back to School Night and in the office. You can also apply online at myschoolapps.com.
