Grade 2 Read for Life 2023 Pizza Party

Last Friday all Grade 2 students participated in the “Read for 2023” Reading and Pizza Party. Students wore their pajamas to school to ensure maximum comfort and were challenged to read for 2023 seconds. They enjoyed a delicious pizza party lunch to celebrate. Congratulations to all second graders for their accomplishment! Many thanks to Grand Slam for filling our large pizza order, the PTO for sponsoring our event, and Ann Marie Grinder and the cafeteria staff for providing fresh veggies, drinks, and ice cream treats for all students!

American Heart Association Kids Heart Challenge

Its about that time of year again where we take on the American Heart Association Kids Heart Challenge. During the month of February students will be participating in activities that educate about heart health and all of the hearts components during physical education. Information to sign up online for the challenge will be sent out at a later date. We raised over $6,000 last year as a district and our goal is to beat that this year! Cold Weather Clothing

With cold weather here, please be sure your child comes to school with appropriate clothing for outdoor recess. When we get measurable snow, students are able to play in the snow during recess. However, they must have snow boots, snow pants, waterproof gloves and winter jackets in order to play in the snow. Please be sure to label your child's outerwear!

News From The Wildcat Cafe

All meals will continue to be FREE for all students for the remainder of the school year! We hope to see your student at both breakfast and lunch!

HELP WANTED! There is a 22.5-25 hour/week position open in our School Nutrition program. Interested individuals should contact Ann Marie Grinder, Food Service Director at agrinder@wbridgewater.com or (508)894-1220.

Adding funds to a student's lunch account. Extra a la carte items such as bottled water, freshly baked cookies, ice cream and milk for students that bring lunch from home are offered for sale in the cafeteria. Students must have money on their lunch account to purchase any extra items. Cash and checks are accepted and electronic payments can be made through MySchoolBucks. You will need your child's 10-digit SASID# to register for a MySchoolBucks account.

RLM Student Council

This year’s Student Council members are off and running on continuing our ideas from last year and starting up some new projects this year. Here is what we want you to know!

· Box Top for Education Fundraiser – we have raised over $115 so far. We are raising more than last year and we hope your effort and support will continue! Please encourage your friends and family to download that app to upload or scan shopping receipts to help our school!

Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 18th from 3-3:45pm.

SEL Committee News (Social-Emotional Learning Committee)

Our SEL rolled out a positive behavior reward system earlier this year, working with all of our staff to distribute “Pawsitivity Points” to students to encourage and support them in making good choices and being mindful of their surroundings and actions. Boy, are our wildcats loving it! Kiddos are saving up the paw points they earn to spend at our new school store. The items in the store are a hit. Have you seen the posters, rainbow pens, drawstring bags, and vinyl stickers they have earned? There are many other items to choose from too. Many parents have reached out asking if and how they can support our efforts, and we are grateful for their collaboration. We have put together a wish list on Amazon for items to keep our store stocked and interesting. If you are willing and able, we welcome any and all donations.

We are also in need of volunteers to help us cut out more Pawsitivity Points! If you would like a stack of papers to cut out, please contact Mrs. Enos at jenos@wbridgewater.com
