Attendance Counts!
Grades Go Down When You’re Not Around.
Attendance Reminders
1. The tardy bell rings at 8:00 am. Any student arriving after that is tardy. Any student arriving after 8:15 will be counted absent.
2. Parent or guardian should report the student’s absence before the end of the day through attendancemanuelpuentes@sisd.net.
3. Parent or guardian must report a student’s tardy as early as possible. After five tardies, scholar will receive a referral and detention.
4. If a student is signed out for an appointment, upon returning to school the student must bring in a doctor’s note. We will not accept receipts for payment or copies of exams. Doctor’s note must be turned in within 24 hours.
5. Students cannot be signed out unless the person is listed as allowed to pick up on the student demographics. An identification card is required.

Things to remember
- Log into the Family Portal and review your child’s attendance.
- Contact the attendance office to submit any necessary corrections. Please be sure to include students name, ID, date of absence, and reason. You may email our attendance clerks at attendancemanuelpuentes@sisd.net. You may also attach any documentation to excuse the absence.
- Your child needs to clear individual period absences with the teacher. The teacher is the only one that may make corrections to period attendance. Please email the teacher directly.
