Job for a Day
The Job For A Day program is scheduled on Monday, November 6, 2023 (November 6 and November 8 for Inova Loudoun hospital participants). The program provides juniors and seniors with a chance to shadow a professional in an industry of their interest. The experience allows the student to learn/observe the tasks and responsibilities necessary in a particular career cluster, field or specific job. Check out these info slides from Mrs. King; be sure to view the video on slide five! Space is limited! Registration begins October 16th!
New this year:
Student registration through SchooLinks. Individual Job For a Day career shadowing opportunities will be listed in “School Events” section. On the “School Events tab”, search “Job For a Day” to find individual opportunities for students to select, read about and register. SchooLinks registration AND permission click is the two-step verification for students to participate.
Attendance spreadsheet for each school will be shared by each school to include student ID numbers for easy verification of excused absence.

TAKE TIME TO THANK OUR JCHS FACULTY
There are several national observances this month honoring educational faculty members. Join us in celebrating these folks on their special days of recognition and beyond:
● World Custodian Day, October 2, recognizes the hard work that it takes to keep our schools in tip-top shape.
● World Teachers’ Day, October 5, honors our teachers who work hard to inspire, guide, educate and mentor us every day.
● National Coaches Day, October 6, was designated by President Nixon: "Coaches are highly qualified teachers—in highly specialized fields. But more than that, they are friends and counselors who help instill in their players important attitudes that will serve them all their lives."
● World Occupational Therapist Day, October 27, celebrates the physical wellness professionals that support our students, including Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists.
PTSA GENERAL MEETING: OCTOBER 19
Please join us for our next meeting on October 19, in person at the Champe Library or virtually via Google Meet. We look forward to seeing you there!

Congratulations to the following students who attended All-County Choir:

Additionally, JCHS choir students had an amazing opportunity to perform with college students at James Madison University under the direction of Jace Saplan, the visiting conductor from Arizona State University. Only five high schools are selected from the state to perform, and we were selected for the second year in a row to perform at a collegiate level.
