#PointerNation is proud to announce that Mrs. Judy Pelton has been selected as the WCASS (Wisconsin Council of Administrators of Special Services) Region 3 Paraprofessional of the Year! Judy has been a fixture in the Mineral Point Unified School District for 45 years. Over the decades, Judy has impacted thousands of students. She goes above and beyond her job finding ways to support and advocate for her students. When she sees they need extra support, she is always the first person to give a student the extra love and care they need. She truly loves to see kids have the ability to find their own way to success. We were excited to celebrate her at an assembly. Congratulations, Judy!

We had a great Spring Garden Day! The whole elementary school was out working to get the garden ready for warmer weather. Some seeds were planted in the ground, and others were started in pots, with the help of Jenny Bonde and Christy Cole. Some classes explored the Oak Savanna and spread seeds with Zachary Pacana from Driftless Conservancy, some heard stories told by Jane Stenson, and some learned about composting with worms from Ali Sauter and Barb Kass. What a wonderful experience for us all. Thank you to all who volunteered their time to help make this possible!

SWAL Conference Valedictorians and Salutatorians were honored at the SWAL Honors Banquet this past week at Boscobel High School. Valedictorian Lorelei Allbright and Salutatorian Griffin Albaugh represented Mineral Point (Salutatorian Kylie Rule was unable to attend due to a wrestling commitment in Las Vegas). Congrats to all and thanks to Boscobel for hosting our scholars!

Our Middle School's Kindness Club is promoting and creating a culture of kindness in our school. Each week we will be giving a 'shoutout' to students caught being kind. Congrats to Cooper McGuire! "Cooper is such a kind and genuine person. On his way out the door after school, he smiles and tells every single person that he meets to have a good night," Mrs. Rielly.

1st graders visited the world’s largest cave in Vietnam! Caves are so cool!

We tried to manifest warm weather while beach towel buddy reading! As you can see from our coats…we weren’t very successful!

The FFA will put wagons out this week at Triple P Express and Casey's! We know the weather isn't the best, but plants look good and are ready for their new homes.

We are in need of snacks for students and personal hygiene items. Monetary donations will also be accepted which will be used for specific student and family needs.

We are in need of boys pants children’s sizes 4T up to 14/16 and undergarments for boys and girls in all children's sizes 4T up to 14/16.
