Happy Tuesday Families,
Today is a new day! This week is our second week into quarter 4. Conferences are happening. Its always nice to sit and chat with families and discuss the glows and grows of our wonderful babies. 8th Grade Great America Trip
Great America Logistics
Park Hours for June 1st are 10:30am - 7:00pm
Scholars who are attending Great America should arrive at their campus at their regular 7:30 am time. Each campus will have their own bus to transport scholars to the park. Buses are scheduled to pick up at 9:30am. With the park opening at 10:30am this will provide 15 minutes of wiggle room and 45 minutes for travel time. Once the buses drop off, THEY WILL NOT STAY, they will return for a 6:00pm pick up to be back at each MCP campus by 7:00pm.
This year scholars will be in charge of purchasing their own ticket to gain entry into the park. MCP will provide an option for scholars to purchase tickets through us. In order to make this happen we will need to know the number of tickets MCP would need to purchase. Permission slips will be sent home to scholars who meet requirements to go, which will give parents the option to choose if they would like to purchase a ticket through MCP or on their own. Parents will need to send money back with a signed permission slip for scholars to obtain a ticket.
Please advise parents that Great America DOES NOT accept CASH, so scholars MUST bring a debit card, Cash App Card, or a preloaded debit card for spending money. Scholars are in charge of buying their own food and drink! Staff will not be responsible for scholars who do not come with money. I recommend scholars bring at a minimal $50 for food/drink throughout the day.
Scholars who are NOT attending Great America should stay at home for this day. If a parent decides to bring their child despite them not meeting requirements then they MUST purchase their ticket as well as stay with their child the entire time. MCP will NOT be responsible for scholars who did not earn the trip and scholars who did not earn the trip are not allowed to be with MCP groups without a parent. MCP Staff who are chaperoning the trip CANNOT act as a parental/guardian for scholars who aren’t eligible to go.
**Only scholars who maintained 85% of their Virtuous Dollars for Quarter 4 are allowed to attend this trip**
Academic Blast...
All things Academics!
At MCP, we value academic excellence! We need your scholars to get a good night's sleep each night so they can focus and do their best during the day.
As we are in the last quarter of the year, please talk with your scholars about finishing strong. Scholars should be completing life's work each night with excellence. During class, scholars should be participating, engaged, taking notes, and completing all work with consistent effort.
This week and next are Parent Teacher Conferences if requested by parent and/or teacher. If you haven't already seen the paperwork, notes were sent home if teachers are requesting a conference.
Parents can also request to meet with a teacher if desired.
Progress reports will start going out April 25th for 4th quarter. Please make sure you look over your scholar's grades and reach out to teachers with any questions.
Thanks for all that you do!
--Ms. Arias
