Our year-long project of Self-Love has started with a semester of exploring the many parts of student identities. Over the past few months, students have become familiar with topics of identity to better understand who they are. Through read alouds and special guest speakers, we engaged in an inquiry of who we are, and what are all the parts of our identities that we can love. Our hope is that students will know and love themselves deeply. As they gain a better understanding of who they are, students are also noticing the similarities and celebrating the differences between other classmates. In the next semester, we will continue our self-love journey by finding tools to take care of ourselves and ultimately our community

An empowerment outfit is an outfit that you wear that makes you feel strong, confident, and on top of the world. We encourage all participants students and families to wear their empowerment outfits for exhibition. We will be having an empowerment photo booth to capture families in their empowerment outfit and power poses

This will be an all outdoor event and mask are required for all participants. Students will be allowed to invite fewer number of guest than in years past.

An additional precaution we are implementing is limiting the number of visitors to the exhibitions.

Only two adults and the siblings that are enrolled at HTeCV will be allowed to attend the night of exhibition.

Our goal is to be able to help families celebrate while also maintaining some social distancing. We know that this may be a difficult choice for families to make. We also want to make sure that we are protecting families and students while celebrating their hard work.

We appreciate your continued support and cooperation as we navigate and celebrate our students and their hard work!

Families are expected to participate and stay the entire time. Students and families will be given Radical Love activities to complete for exhibition these guides will be collected and counted as student participation. Students and families will be responsible for packing up and taking home their exhibition presentation. Please save boxes/ alter for a second exhibition in January.
