Small Middle School

Small GreenTech Academy: Small Middle School attracts students from all over Austin to our Environmental Sciences (Green) and pre-engineering Project Lead The Way (Tech) programs. Project-based courses make learning cooperative, engaging, and effective. Add to that our award winning Fine Arts and Athletic Departments, as well as our whole child approach and we are the school of choice.

We are an all inclusive school. Anyone that comes to Small is eligible for our Green Tech Academy Program. If you live in our attendance zone, you don't need to apply, just fill out your interest on the choice sheet. We do accept transfers for those of you that don't live in our zone. Patton Elementary will be visiting Small Middle School on the following dates:

December 15

On this day, students will get to learn about our electives and our performing arts classes will put on a special production. We will conclude with a tour of our campus.

January 17

On this day, Small counselors will visit Patton students at Patton to explain and complete a draft of their course selection sheets.

Oak Hill Elementary will be visiting Small on the following dates:

On this day, Small counselors will visit Oak Hill students at Oak Hill to explain and complete a draft of their course selection sheets.

December 14

On this day, Small counselors will visit Baldwin students at Baldwin to explain and complete a draft of their course selection sheets.

On January 15, 2024, counselors will host a Q and A session for any parents who would like to learn more about our course selection sheet and how to complete it. The session will be via Zoom. The link will be shared as the date approaches.

Small is accepting applications for students who live outside of the attendance zone.

February 6th, 2024 Application Deadline* – Last day to have your application complete– ALL Essay’s & Recommendations must be submitted through the application by this date.

February 20th, 2024 - All students need to be coded in the system by schools.

March 4th, 2024 - Acceptance Results are displaed in Enroll Austin

March 29th, 2024 - Deadline for receipt of student’s decision letters accepting or rejecting admission

April 2nd, 2024 - General Transfers Open
