Mac El Weekly News
Week of February 9, 2024
From the Principal
The sounds of our students playing outside this week were wonderful! Unfortunately, spring hasn't arrived yet, and the weather is expected to get colder again, with the possibility of snow. So, please make sure that your child has a coat, hat, gloves, and appropriate clothing when they come to school on Monday!
As Valentine's Day is approaching next week, we would like to take a moment to appreciate the kindness demonstrated by our students towards each other. We are fortunate to have many students who care for one another, make new friends, include others, share, laugh, and enjoy each other's company. Thank you for instilling the values of kindness and respect in your children at home. We witness their acts of kindness every day and we are grateful for it.

The packet contains information if you want your child to sell to people through email or text. You can find the instructions on the front of the package envelope that was sent home. BRAVES OF THE WEEK
2nd Grade: Boedi Claytor
Boedi is a helpful student who works hard in our classroom. We are thankful to have Boedi in our class. He is a great friend with a sense of humor that makes us all laugh.
3rd Grade: Hannah Ladouceur
Although Hannah just joined our class family in January, it feels like sheโs been with us the entire year. She picked up on our class routines and procedures like a pro and even tackled virtual learning seamlessly! She comes to class prepared, works hard, and always has a smile on her face! I canโt imagine our class without her.
4th Grade: Donovan Hayden
Donovan has shown to be an exemplary student. He has a special knack for math and engineering. He is also showing great acts of kindness in the classroom by helping his fellow students and has been a pleasure to have in class.
5th Grade: Jordyn Shear
Jordyn is a student in my class I can always count on. She is always ready to work, help out a classmate, or participate when others are less willing. Watching Jordyn this quarter grow as a reader and in her math skills has been so fun. She quickly caught on to adding and subtracting fractions and rocked her benchmark! In reading, she increased her reading levels from 1st quarter and had tons of growth in her diagnostic. Jordyn has put the hard work into improving herself and deserves to be Brave of the week! Congrats, Jordyn, we are so proud of you!
