From the Principal

Happy New Year!

We’re excited to see everyone back at Eastside! 2024 is sure to be a great year for our champion students and educators. This is a time for us all to reflect on our Hopes and Dreams and reset or recommit to those goals we've been working hard to achieve.

As we look back on last year, Eastside has a lot of things to celebrate. In 2023, Eastside was recognized as being one of the best elementary schools in Wyoming, by the U.S. News & World Report. In fact, we were ranked 22 out of 146! That distinction means Eastside ranked in the top 20% of WY elementary schools.

Eastside continues to meet expectations based on school accountability, based on our report card from the Wyoming Department of Education. This has been consistent for the last several years. This is a testament to the hard work of our professional educators, the continued engagement of our students, and the endless support you provide from home.

Eastside welcomed the district behavior program this fall. This has been a transition for students, staff, and the school community. It has been a resounding success. We continue to adjust and flex as we all learn together. Eastside has 62 staff members who all work together to ensure our students learn at high levels every day. We make sure they are mastering essential academic standards as well as critical social skills that will support their success now and into the future.

We are blessed at Eastside.

Below are a few updates for the month of January.

Assessments

During January grades 3-5 will complete WY-TOPP interim assessments. These are assessments that help us determine student progress on grade level standards. Teams will use this information to reflect on instruction and make necessary adjustments to ensure all students master essential standards prior to the end of the school year. Grades 3-5 will take the WY-TOPP summative assessments in late April/early May. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions.

PTK
Our PTK will meet on Thursday, January 11th at 3:30 in the Eastside library. We encourage all parents to attend! Childcare for toddlers and older is provided.
