COVID-19 Safety Measures:
To ensure safety, here is a BRIEF overview of our COVID-19 safety measures:
- Using the tool provided at the bottom of the page, screen your child every morning for COVID symptoms.
- You must always keep your child at home when they are sick.
- Per federal guidelines, masks will be required for all persons on buses.
- Individuals who display symptoms of illness will be sent home.
- Masks will not be required to be worn during the school day by. Students who wish to wear a face mask will be strongly encouraged to do so. Mask use may limit the need to quarantine as determined through contact tracing.
- The COVID-19 vaccination (for those 12 or older) will eliminate the need to quarantine as determined through contact tracing.
- We will follow SCHD guidance for both the procedure for contact tracing and quarantine as well as for the practices regarding case reporting.
FCSD COVID-19 Daily Student Screening
All students are required to undergo a daily health screening before leaving for school/work.
1. SECTION 1 - In the last 24 hours have you experienced:
- Fever of 100.4 degrees or greater not explained by a known medical or physical condition?
- Uncontrolled cough not explained by a known medical or physical condition?
- Shortness of breath not explained by a known medical or physical condition?
If the answer is YES to any of these questions, you must stay home from school.
2. SECTION 2 - In the last 24 hours have you experienced:
- New loss of smell or taste not explained by a known medical or physical condition?
- Muscle/body aches not explained by a known medical or physical condition?
- Sore throat not explained by a known medical or physical condition?
- Severe headache not explained by a known medical or physical condition?
- Diarrhea not explained by a known medical or physical condition?
- Nausea/vomiting not explained by a known medical or physical condition?
- Abdominal pain not explained by a known medical or physical condition?
If the answer is YES to any two (2) of these questions, you must stay home from school.
3. SECTION 3 - COVID-19 Contact or diagnosis:
- Have you been directed to quarantine by a medical professional, the Saginaw County Health Department, or the Freeland Community School District due to a "close contact" with an individual diagnosed with COVID-19?
- Since you were last at school/work, have you been diagnosed with COVID-19?
If the answer is YES to either of these questions, you must stay home from school.
If the answers to the questions above keep you from coming to school, please get a COVID-19 test and notify your school.
