We hope that families will follow the Countryside News to see the latest from the Village as produced by the Grade 7 students. It has been a great learning opportunity for the students as they develop various skills that are required to take on such a significant task.
We would be happy to hear from our viewers, so please leave comments or send us an email at countrysidevillageps@gmail.com
A Message from Mrs. Pratt, principal of Countryside Village
This week is the beginning of Education Week in Peel and we would like to invite our families to visit Countryside Village Public School during the school day on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week to help us celebrate. We are very proud of the inquiry-based learning that we have been doing all year and would like to show you what we are learning. In addition, we are also hosting a Book Fair in the Library. Purchasing a book helps to support further book purchases for our students.
Our grade 5 students will also be performing a song, along with 9 other Peel schools, at the Literacy and Values through Music Gala being held at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga on Thursday evening. They co-wrote the song about racism with musician Greg Lawless. If you would like to attend this event, please see our office staff to purchase a ticket.
We are excited to share our learning journey with you to celebrate Education Week 2015. We hope that you are able to visit the school.
In addition, we will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair from April 13th to April 16th. There will be a wide variety of books for everyone; from our youngest to our oldest students, at very reasonable prices. We hope that parents will visit the Book Fair when they come to visit the school.
Students in the class are asking the families of Countryside Village students to support them in their project by buying REAL MOVIE THEATRE STYLE POPCORN for $1 a bag that they during 2nd Nutrition Break. Students in K through 2 will have the popcorn sold in their classroom while students in Grade 3 through 8 will have the opportunity to buy at the beginning of 2nd break.
