July 2022
Principal's Message
I hope you are enjoying a fun, safe and restful summer with your family and friends. I can't wait to welcome you back to our new school year. Our first day of school is on Tuesday, August 9th and we will be on a minimum day schedule. Student schedules will be accessible on PowerSchool on August 8th at 3pm.
I look forward to working with our outstanding teachers and staff to establish productive partnerships with you to ensure our students will achieve their highest potential. As partners, we share the responsibilities to guide our students to success, but also the need to support them when needed. We ask that you support your student by making sure he/she:
- Attends school daily and is ready to learn
- Demonstrates positive citizenship
- Completes all assignments given by teachers
- Shares both positive and challenging experiences with you so you are aware of his/her school life
- Knows that you have high expectations for him/her to be succeed in school
We also encourage you to be an active participant in your student’s education by:
- Attending parent meetings/conferences and school events
- Checking the PowerSchool Parent Portal to monitor student progress
- Listening to weekly Sunday Connect-Ed messages
- Reading all communication that is sent home
- Engaging in dialogue with your students about their school life
- Support and participate in the Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
Please read through this newsletter for our school opening information. As always, I will do my best to keep you updated on any new information. Once the school year officially starts, weekly updates (phone message and emailed newsletter) will be sent every Sunday at 7pm, in addition to any Blackboard Connect Ed messages from the District.
The wonderful Northrup staff and I feel privileged to be a part of this Gladiator family. We thank you for your support and we look forward to a successful school year.
GO GLADIATORS!
All the best,
Dr. Northcott
