Energy Action Day
Energy Action Day is Wednesday, 12/6/23! Students and families are encouraged to pledge to reduce energy usage on 12/6/23. Reminders from Previous Newsletters
East Harlem Food Pantries
The Hunter College NYC Food Policy Center is collaborating with Plentiful: a completely free, easy-to-use reservation system for food pantries and the people they serve. Through their database, the information below is constantly updated with the latest opening hours and/or changes.
Please see the attached list for the most up-to-date list https://www.nycfoodpolicy.org/nyc-food-resource-guide-east-harlem/
Attendance Policy
The Department of Education has a system to alert families when their students are absent from school. When a student is marked absent, the family will receive an automated text message, phone call and/or email from the NYC Department of Education. Please note that if a student is not in their homeroom during the required time, between 8:25-8:30am, their teacher is mandated to mark them absent. We encourage you to take a moment to talk to your student about the importance of arriving on time to their homeroom. Thank you for your cooperation.
A Few Words from the Parents' Association
Exciting News about Giving Tuesday!
We had an AMAZING turnout on Giving Tuesday, raising over 30K for Wagner! These funds will go directly to the Parents’ Association which supports vital programs for over 1,100 students, including enrichment, staff development, technology upgrades, parent and student workshops, and so much more. Thank you to the many Wagner parents and guardians who donated. We couldn’t have done it without you.
We’re also grateful for an anonymous donor who matched donations up to $5,000, as well as for Wagner parent Jack Tsao who generously donated Andrea Bocelli concert tickets to our special drawing. Congratulations to Wagner parent Catherine Baumann!!!
To date, we’ve met half of our annual fundraising goal for Family Appeal. If you would still like to donate, you can support the PA and the Wagner community by making a donation here.
Candy Sale!
Thank you also to our fabulous Fundraising Committee for hosting our holiday See’s Candy fundraiser! If you happened to miss this one, you’re in luck - we’ll hold another sale before Valentine’s Day.
Winter Parent Social
Get a start on your holiday gifting among Wagner friends! We’re excited to announce our next parent social which will be held this Monday, December 4th from 6-8pm at Framebridge, right around the corner from Wagner! Bring your prints or digital images to Frambridge and enjoy drinks and nibbles at no cost - or just peruse their offerings. For one week, Framebridge will donate 10% of any sales back to Wagner. Perfect opportunity to frame some holiday gifts while helping give back to the school! Click here for more information about Framebridge.

Wagner Wishes
If you’re looking for a way to support the PA, please check out our Amazon wish list here. Every purchase goes directly to the PA, from treats for special events, to storage bins for all those treats. At the moment, we could especially use some of those bins so we can keep the Lay’s chips to ourselves and not any unwanted guests!
Interested in Volunteering?
The PA always appreciates volunteers. If you’re interested in partnering with other parents and guardians to help out the school (and have fun while doing so!), please fill out this Google Form. Here is also the chance to provide feedback about the time and format of PA monthly meetings. We look forward to hearing from you!
